Artist Who Makes People Cry With Her Animal Comics Just Released A New Tragic One About A Freezing Dog
Jenny Jinya, the artist who makes people cry with her Loving Reaper comics, started the series with a story about a dog who got left behind. As time went by, she has included more and more animals in her work, like bunnies, parrots, and elephants. Now, Jenny is back with a piece about another good boy in a bad family.
Three days ago, she uploaded a strip that takes us back to winter. Zeus, an optimistic canine, spends his days freezing, tied to a kennel. It doesn’t break his spirit, though. Zeus still loves his family. But the weather is more than he can handle.

What makes Jenny Jinya’s comics unique is the fact that she extensively researches the themes she’s covering. And this one was no exception. Sadly, winters actually produce reports of people leaving their dogs outside to die in the cold.
“I wanted to take up this topic for so long,” Jenny Jinya told Bored Panda. “It annoys me that there still are people who believe their dog can handle everything, as if they’re keeping a wild wolf in their garden. But our dogs are tamed, they have adapted to our circumstances. Most breeds of dogs do not tolerate the cold (Northern breeds excepted). Finally, I’ve developed an idea for a story that I can build around the problem.”

Comparing her latest strip to the one that started it all, Jenny agrees they are similar in a way. “I’ve had the feeling for the last year that I’ve moved away from the ‘roots of my comics.’ That’s not necessarily bad, but sometimes I had the impression that I had forgotten why I started Loving Reaper at all,” she explained. “I’ve lost some of my motivation and inspiration. I tried to get it back with this comic.”
The creator also shared great news with us: most of her stories will soon be published in a hardcover book. It will even have some never-before-seen comics and a few more surprises. Pre-orders start this August, so keep your eyes open. Jenny Jinya will soon announce more details on her website and social media accounts.
Unfortunately, people know what the comic is about all too well

They never think ill their people, do they?
Load More Replies...5 month ago I had to put to sleep my 16 year old cat due to illness... we tried but it was her time and I didn´t want her to suffer more. It broke my heart so much and I am so f*cking angry at people like this. Why the f*ck do they have pets? They don´t deserve them. He could have been with someone else - loved and happy... I´m sorry for my outburst but this makes me so angry - now more than before.
Grew up in the North. DO NOT leave animals out in the cold. We lost a dog to hypothermia by sheer bad luck one year, and it haunts me yet. He had to "go" and got past us into the blizzard, and I wasn't allowed out to retrieve him. Why he didn't shack up in the barn (had a pet door, as well as warming elements!) or hide out in a doghouse (also had warming elements, and well-insulated).... We never figured it out. I was angry at my parents for *years* for not letting me go out to save him. Actually, still a little bit angry, and it's been almost 40 years.... RIP, buddy, we missed you.
If you can’t take care of a pet, don’t get it. My neighbors brought home two kittens to give to their kids (who have mental issues) and then had to give away the little lady kitten, and kicked the tom kitten out in the snow. He cried outside their door every night that winter. Two years later, Sammie is in my lap inside.
There is a special place in Hell for people who treat animals this way.
My cat drowned and I had to recover its floating corpse... Why does it still hurt so much?
Our last little dog was a rescue. He had been taken from people who left him chained out side with a Rottweiler at temps down to -40c. Had frostbitten feet and was scared of everything when we got him. Eventually turned out to be a happy little guy and we had him for ten years.. It was appalling how people viewed and treated animals up north.
Read it, get heartbroken, than angry, and then join (support) a reputable, non-profit animal protection organization........just do something, please. You would not only help animals, but people too. The link between animal cruelty and violence against humans is undeniable!! Could you really trust someone who mistreat, torture, and kill an innocent sentient being?
Load More Replies...The really surprising part is how whenever I read this comic, My eyes always water.
I think it would be really "surprising" if your eyes did not water, Samuel.
Load More Replies...Everyone of her comics makes me cry. They're awesome.
Ever have a neighbors dog that was a yap monster? Morning, noon, night my mom's neighbor's dog was barking. I was not a fan... and when the temperature dropped, I went over and asked them to please bring their dog in because I knew it was suffering. That poor creature didn't have good people, but after that... they took better care. Sometimes all it takes is knowing someone is watching. I learned a lot that night.
People need to understand to treat animals like children. They can't speak an only know what we teach them. We are their world. If u wouldn't treat a child a certain way don't do it to an animal. It's that simple. People who abuse animals should be treated the same as those that mistreat children.
If you see an animal in distress, take time to react. It gets easier with practice to confront or ask. And it’s rewarding.
Gosh darn it, got me crying like a kid who dropped her icecream cone in the parking lot.😭
I was doing some work and checked it out and nearly cried. Please take care of your pet.
As usual, this made me cry. I really hate some people, how could anyone do something like this?
i was really upset and furious at Zeus's humans who left him in the cold, but those freaking onion ninjas came for me when i saw how he still tried to make the best of the situation.
😭😭😭 also, if your dog is outside and is barking non stop, it's because it's BORED. And disturbing the neighbors.
PLEASE take breed and location into consideration when you are thinking of getting a pet. If you live in New Mexico, a husky isn't a good idea. Or if you like in Alaska, you probably shouldn't get a Yorkie. Please, please, PLEASE be wise in your decision. No animal should be held captive by its owner's life choices.
I never cry. But this made me incredibly sad. Imma go hug my dog now.
I don't understand why those despicable, evil sub-human monsters who cause immense pain and unimaginable suffering to any defenseless, innocent, sentient being are still referred to as people.
This breaks my heart. I left my house at 9am to go to the grocery store on one of the coldest days of the winter a few years ago. Temperatures were hovering right at 0* F, with a windchill of -16F. So, so cold. At a house a few blocks away, I saw a very thin-looking dog standing outside, chained up, but pawing at the door, and lifting his feet over and over, his feet obviously too cold to stand in one spot for very long. I figured his owners would hear him pawing at the door and let him in soon. I came back from the store an hour later - dog was still in the same spot, still prancing to keep his feet from freezing, and frantic to get in. I pulled into the driveway & knocked on the door to ask them to PLEASE let their dog in before he froze to death. I got blasted by the smell of the house (alcohol, etc) and a bleary-eyed, half-asleep woman told me to "mind my own f*cking business" before yanking the dog inside. I called our local animal control officer & reported them.
How blindly trusting that dog is… “they will let me in soon!” He continued to be so certain that his family would make him warm again. Jeez. I did not expect to cry tonight.
😢 😢 😭 😭 😭 that dog was so sweet it broke my heart in two. he was so optimistic and happy when his family (besides the girl) were ignoring him.
We adopted a 8-week puppy today and I assure you all Ginger will get the best care a dog could ask for.
Thank you so much, Chloe. You are a great person.
Load More Replies...At least the little girl tried.. at least he died knowing somebody loved him. That poor baby…. He deserved so much more.
I just want to say to the dad real quick: If your daughter grows up to hate you and never speak to you again, don’t be surprised you( words can not explain)
I can't imagine what would lead someone to treat a pet like this, I have two ratties and I constantly worry about if they're fine with the temperature.
💔 so sad, though I love how sweet death is in this, not cruel but kind and gentle
The end was the worst when he said "I love my family so much!"
Load More Replies...my grama leaves her dog outside all the time and i insist on letting her inside but my grama wont let her in makes me mad
Kick granny’s butt outside and lock her out. Let her see how it feels.
Load More Replies...I hate all these comics, life is s**t enough, I don't need anymore thanks
So "sorry" that all that misery, pain and suffering of others distract your comfortable, happy life, "kind" and "caring" Stacey Vokes. You are very "empathetic" human .....something.
