After having organized a Futsal Tournament for girls, an Education Program for children in a brick factory and many other projects, we at Girls Empowered by Travel are thrilled to announce a new VOLUNTEERING PROGRAM IN NEPAL: Rebuilding the ethnic village of Gre, in the Himalayas.
In April 2015 Nepal was hit by a devastating earthquake and the Langtang region (including Gre village) was hit the hardest! Tens of thousands of people lost their homes, lives, and/or loved ones. Sadly, many people in Gre village still live in temporary shelters and lack basic needs, like showers or toilets. However, the potential of the village is impressive. Gre is located on the Tamang Heritage Trail, which promises peaceful trekking among the gorgeous Himalayas without the crowds of more established routes.
IN A NUTSHELL, our goal is to help the villagers to develop sustainable tourism in their village to ensure their livelihood.
You can both apply for volunteering in the ‘More info’ link below and support the project by donating through our GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/Gre19. More information at girlsempoweredbytravel.org or via email girlsEbyT@gmail.com
This volunteering program is run by Girls Empowered by Travel – Nepal, a non-profit organization. Profits will go towards supporting Gre village, as well as towards GET-Nepal.

Gre currently lacks facilities to accommodate hikers, but many families are interested in establishing homestays.

The program fee is $615 which includes all basic needs for the volunteers including meal, accommodation and transportation.
