50 Times People Failed In The Kitchen So Badly, They Just Had To Share Pics Online (New Pics)
Nothing makes human beings happier than a nice freshly cooked meal made with love and effort (skill optional). So no wonder so many of us are putting on the aprons and rocking our inner Gordon Ramsay back at home.
And while many succeed in cooking something that ends up on their Instagram feed, others are not so fortunate. So this post is about hope and failure, failure and hope: kitchen edition, where dreams of tasty bites get shattered by the reality check of burned, overcooked, weirdly shaped and very unappetizing (in)edible artifacts.
Scroll through some of the best of the worst ones below and be sure to check out our previous cooking fails here, here and here.

Here Is My Favorite Picture Of My Grandma. She Was Having A Hard Time With The Mixer
Previously, pie artist and baking and cooking pro Jessica Clark-Bojin shared a few great tips and tricks with Bored Panda to help all of us out in the kitchen and prevent massive disasters from happening. "Kitchen 'mistakes' can range from the catastrophic, 'I forgot the pot roast in the oven and now the kitchen is on fire' to the more benign, 'I accidentally put paprika in the cookies instead of cinnamon,' but in most instances, they stem from the same thing: distraction and a lack of preparation."

My Bff Just Melted Her Favorite Pot. I Didn’t Even Know That Was Possible
I did that once myself... once. Had water and potatoes in a favorite pot. Left it on boiling so long, all the water evaporated. I noticed when I smelled something strange. The potatoes were burned to the inside and the metal was melted just like in this pic. I think it's the soldering between the pot and the bottom piece they put on the pot for better cooking.
Jessica pointed out that anyone who wants to improve in the kitchen should start by taking some time to think about and picture in their mind all the steps before diving in and starting to bake or cook. That way, you can avoid slip-ups, blunders, and setting your entire kitchen aflame. "Make sure you have all the ingredients you need before you start baking. Work 'mis-en-place' and have all the bowls, spoons, tools, etc. cleaned and out on the counter ready for you. Measure out dry ingredients in advance, and (if called for) portion out wet ingredients to chill in the fridge. Clean up pots and pans while your mixture bakes," Jessica shared.

The amount of people, who forgot they had something on their stove/in their oven for hours... is disturbing.
I'm the type of person to do that...which is why I always set an alarm or stay in the kitchen until it's done.
Load More Replies...It surprises me how many shattered glass lids there are. How does that happen? (Not judging, just wondering. I use glass lids, too, and never had anything like that.)
Yeah...If this thread has taught me anything it's that I might have to stop using my glass lids.
Load More Replies...Sometimes, little scratches or nicks that you may or may not see, from washing or storing, overheat and then shatter. If the temp changes too fast, like putting cold water on the lid, that of course happens. Sometimes there are tiny bubbles or flaws in the glass from manufacturing that you might not see, and wear or age will cause that weakness to snap. Also, putting a glass lid directly on a cook top, if the cook top is still warm, can cause suction - pulling the lid down and then breaking the glass.
Load More Replies...Use your fingers or measuring spoons to add seasoning. Don't pour directly from the storage container onto your food.
Agreed. My mom taught me as a little kid, never add or measure ingredients or break eggs into your pot; it's too easy to mess up and dump too much or have the lid come off, and the eggs you break into a bowl to make sure they're good and you didn't get any shell. She taught me to use a measuring spoon or my fingers, away from the pot. As for a single dish seasoned at the table, I guess there isn't much you can do but buy good pepper mills and check your shaker's tops I guess.
Load More Replies...I"m sorry, but when I smell something even remotely burning on the stovetop/in the oven, I'm immediately up and checking on it, even if it's just a drip in the catch plate. Also, no smoke detectors????? Set an alarm on your phone if you're that tired so you'll at least wake up from that unplanned nap before your house burns down.
I have a friend that poured a bag of uncooked rice down the garbage disposal. He thought that was ok. It wasn’t.
I once messed up at making mug cakes because I forgot to mix the powder, and I was wondering why it tasted so grainy. The amazing thing is that I had just made bruschetta in my culinary arts class a few hours earlier.
I can't help wondering how many people were on their phones whilst they were cooking. Just sayin
