A Word Art Memorial Of A Loving Gay Couple And Their Tragic Fate
This wordart drawing was created by a genius artist Michael Volpicelli. It features a loving gay couple with a message worth knowing.
One of the gentlemen, Nazim Mahmood, took his own life after his parents chose not to accept him and his lover Matthew Ogston for being gay because of their Islamic religious beliefs.
Now Matt has dedicated his life to helping other people to find acceptance in the world and to teaching tolerance and love for gay family members. The entire drawing is made of words Matt used to describe Nazim and the message we would like to share with the rest of the world.

Share on FacebookSad that he committed suicide cause of parents! People shouldn't take parents' "disapproval" so seriously! They would come around eventually, or even if they wouldn't, he would still be there with his lover!
I love the art. So beautiful. I'm sorry this world and his family and friends lost Nazim. Happy though that Matt will be making a positive difference in the lives of so many others struggling. Thank you so much for sharing this....I feel deeply moved by your work.
Staunch religious fundamental conservatism claims yet another life as it so frequently does - either directly or indirectly :-\ No parent rationally rejects their child for being gay.
Really unique to see art made of up words. parents words can be the hardest! my mother told me I wouldn't amount to anything. i frazzled her i was so out of the box in the way i did everything. i couldn't even peel carrots correctly! (or so i was told) . i am very careful what i say to my kids!
Why even care what others think? I don't understand how you can choose to negate yourself and your lover for your parents and religion.
