Upon leaving your healthcare practitioner/ surgeon, gynecologist/ holistic healer, etc; do you feel you were provided with enough adequate information upon leaving?

When I came back from surgery on my vocal chords and the nice nurse said your doctor will be here in a few minutes to talk to you about how it went and what you need to do for the next couple weeks and HE NEVER SHOWED UP!!! I did not not know what to do! I picked up the prescription they sent in, took it for the five days it lasted and then started the same awful coughing again (he had told me back when he first examined me that it was important I not cough) so I got scared and called the doctor’s office. I told them what was happening and that he’d never told me what I should be doing. Ever helpful, receptionist told me to just do whatever the doctor had told me to do after surgery. I tried to explain that he never came to tell me what I should be doing! Her response was “Then just do that.” !!! No faith in that office!
