Meet Coop, A Cat Abandoned By His Owners Who Found His New Loving Family
Julia Davis moved into a new home in Birmingham, Alabama, and discovered that there was a cat living in the garden chicken coop. It turned out that the cat belonged to the previous owners, who had left it behind when they moved out. She decided to take care of the feline and provide him with necessary vet care, despite already having a cat and dog of her own. With the help of the community on social media, she named him Coop, inspired by the chicken coop he lived in. Later, another feral cat named Roof came along, who was often seen hanging around Coop’s wooden house.
The story doesn’t end there, as Julia found two baby kittens hiding under the chicken coop, one of whom was adopted by her parents and named Sadie, while the other, CJ (Coop Jr.), stayed with Julia and they both are now grown-up cats. This experience inspired woman to start a foster home, called ‘Coop Kitties’, for rescue cats and kittens, and she now helps many of them find loving families. Initially, she started a GoFundMe page to pay for Coop’s vet bills, but now all the donations help her take care of other rescue cats and give them a second chance at life.

Share on FacebookI can totally understand that there are situations where you can't keep your pets and have to rehome them. But just leaving them behind or abandoning them somewhere is something I'll never be able to understand. That's just cruel. At least give them to a pet shelter.
When I moved into my house 7 years ago, I found the previous owner left a stray, who was pregnant as well. I did what I could, rehomed momma and 2 babies, and kept one baby for myself. It's a shame there are such heartless people out there.

There was tornado weather and the first thing I did was figure out how I was going to get 2 guinea pigs and a dog (who is afraid of basements) in the basement. I've never made a plan before I had pets.

This is such a beautiful story. No animal deserves to be abandoned. If you are moving and can't take them with you or you don't want them anymore, take them to a shelter and allow them to at least find a loving new home. All of these kitties are so cute and I love that CJ is being a great foster dad. There are a lot of strays in my apartment complex and if I could, I would take them and give them a home. I plan to adopt a cat someday in the future and I plan for my cat to be a shelter cat. When you are looking for a pet always adopt, don't shop.
The people who left Coop behind didn't deserve him. When you get a pet, you MUST commit to them for their ENTIRE life, not just until it's not convenient for you. When you truly can no longer keep them, at least find them another loving, and permanent, home first. Then again, I've known so many people who just throw other people away, so you could say that animals don't have any kind of chance if they end up with that kind of person. Too bad we can't screen for such assholery when trying to find homes for animals. Also---take your pets to the vet for their check ups and shots, and spay and neuter, FFS!
Wow! Such pure souls still exist who can take care of not one but many. Hats off to you kind lady and for sure this will inspire many in the future. LOVEFORCATS
The sainted Terry Pratchett believed that a cat belonged to a house and not a hooman, and only sold to those who woul;d carry on taking care of the cat(s).
you deserve a medal of kindness, free rent, and much more you pure heart soul
Saw this on The Dodo'd feed on YouTube. Julia sounds just like the person you'd think she is. So soft and gentle. The cats are soooo cute!

I love this story and all the pictures, and I will take one of each please 🥰 don't tell them but I could look at these pictures all day. I don't like when people abandon beautiful pets because not every case works out like this. People think about these animals and have the same feelings as when you first bought these little cute and precious babies home to live with you. Thank you
What a great person! Those cats are so lucky to be in such a great home. But WHY would you abandon an innocent animal?? There’s soooo many better ways to rehome animals. Glad the cats are with her though
