Some people just looove talking. Like your auntie Betsie who just created a FB account and floods it with posts on chemtrails, or that entitled anti-masker who believes wearing a face covering impinges on their rights. Or many other loud ones on social media who can’t miss a chance to spread some misinformation on drinking bleach to prevent COVID-19.
But the world is the place of karma, and if there’s yin, there’s always yang. That means that if you throw some nonsense out there into the world, it may come back and hit you like a boomerang.
To show you how it works in practice, Bored Panda compiled a mesmerizing collection from the witty subreddit called “Murdered By Words.” It’s a prominent corner of the internet entirely devoted to put-downs, comebacks, and counter-arguments.

Load More Replies...The only Americans who think America is great are Trump supporters. The rest of us know our country sucks.
I'll be honest; there are lots of things awful about America but there are also many bad things about every country and I honestly can't see why Americans have to hate America. I know and understand why we should hate it, but there are plenty of good things about it. Every country has pros and cons.
Load More Replies...Nice, finally someone said that and took that shitbox down a peg. Your constitution is a joke, nearly nowhere in the world there is such a high number of homicides, of school shootings. Every civilized country has healthcare but you, and everything becomes political, even science and proven facts.
@... I 100% agree. After four years of the tangerine toddler, to borrow a nickname, we certainly need Biden to make America great again. If you’re using that as a Trump slogan, one wonders why he hasn’t done squat in the last four years, and why we’re still waiting for him to make America great again.
Load More Replies...So bloody true. And that isn’t even the tip of the iceberg, no/lack of workers rights, cost of higher education, minimum wage especially in the service industry, lack of services for veterans and more.
Grew up in America, family moved us to Germany before I grew up enough to see all the issues in the states. Glad to have left, never wanna go back.
Well, this American agrees that our country is a mess. It's a capitalist society where people with money rule.
Money rules in all countries, regardless of the political system
Load More Replies...They are working towards making it illegal again. The ultimate goal of a lot of right-wing conservative Christian Republicans is to overturn Roe vs Wade. Apologies if you know this already, but that's why it's so important to them to stuff their candidate into the Supreme Court.
Load More Replies...The only thing I have a problem with here is "America only looks good to Americans" No it doesn't, and most people here are smart enough to see that.
As an American that has lived in more countries than I have states I would say everyone is partial to believe their own country is better than somewhere else. about 80% of the time its NOT. Not sure where the commenter is coming from but I bet good ole Uncle Sam has saved or intervened for the better of their country on more than one occasion. Its also easy to criticize while not disclosing where you are from. If anyone does unbias due diligence you will NOT find a country that has their s**t completely together. If you did then everyone would be like them.
Sad, so sad, but oh so true. I lived in England for half -a -year; more than long enough to see us through different eyes. And that was decades ago. I don't want to imagine how it looks now. For the record, I voted for Hilary.
The precious American constitution made it possible that for hundreds of years people, who were supposedly equal, were in fact By law NOT. The constitution has been put onto a pedestal where it definitly does not belong. It was a good start back in the day, but the constitution and the laws should have kept up with progress and the development of the society it is supposed to govern!
Yep... the last time I broached *some* of the points on here (not even as directly as this) to an American... the response was essentially (paraphrased): "Well, **I** think it's great, so it is. You are just jealous because you're not American." - it's... unbelievable.
The constitution says bearing arms is because militias should be allowed. You aren’t in a militia if you’re one guy who thinks he needs to bring s pistol to Walmart.
Americans - you don't have to continued with an outdated and flawed system. Or you can do what you've always done and get what you've always got.
I can't agree more. However, the person who wrote this doesn't seem to realize that most Americans regard America as a sad joke as well.
this is so true it hurts....can someone come to get me out of this heck hole;-;
As an american I freaking hate america. This country is pretty much trash
And don't forget the educational system and the amount of religious nuts! We had an exchange-teacher from the US in highschool. He was absolutely shocked when he saw our curriculum. He said it was a lot tougher than in the US for students of the same age. And English is our second language. He was also shocked that we are taught a THIRD language from the age of about 12 yo. (Norway).
True story because so many Americans do not travel, don't know their history, and don't read in order to educate themselves.
As an American, I can agree (I SO want to move to Italy as soon as I turn 18)
Jeez, this is probably the best description ever. I need a new place to live. Can I have suggestions please?
Honestly I hate stuff like that. America, as publicized as its faults are, is still the best place in the world to live! (With the exception of maybe some town in Norway 😂). Really, I know it’s obnoxious, and everywhere seems better on vacation, but I would pick America over anywhere else in a heartbeat.
Look, as much as I get where this person is coming from, please get your goddamn facts correct. To this day, abortion isn't illegal, however it is true that the procedure is being challenged in many states (which does suck). Using data from Wikipedia (https://bit.ly/2IUADzJ), it looks like that only 5 out of the 10 largest cities in the US have murder rates that are 200 and above, so I'm not exactly sure where OP is coming from with "literal hundreds of gun murders in every single large city every year". With that being said, I won't deny that we do have a serious gun issue in this country and we should do more to address it. I know that this really didn't make as much news as it did with the initial cases, but in 2018 a federal court ruled that feeding the homeless is protected by the first amendment.
" American Exceptionalism " is what toxic American Parochialism looks like from the inside.
(1) I agree with 90% of it, but it is always all or nothing when it comes to America, from non-Americans. Yes, some of what was said is true, some of it speculative, and this person probably comes from a country that has 1/10 of our population. I lived overseas for four years, and I still prefer the US (Trump excluded) I now live in Portland, yeah, THAT Portland, and I am a 5 minute drive to the riot sites downtown, and it is as peaceful and beautiful as it always is here. The loudest, weirdest, most extreme examples ALWAYS get used ---“Only in America” haha NOT!, and people assume all of the US is like that. IT'’S NOT. Yes, Trump did not win the popular vote, and is NOT my President. But if you can't see the other side, you are just another "one-eyed" US hater. Democrats, Republicans, and Independents of good will/integrity/respect for our Constitution from all walks of life are getting together and putting country over party, working our butts off to get that clown out of office.
I always get so depressed when I read these kinds of things because I was born in America and I don’t think I could bear to leave my family and move away... even tho I’m not even eighteen yet lol
They left out the part where lemonade stands require business licenses, or the police will shut them down.
That covers what people actually think nicely. Too bad it could have been a leader instead of going back 200 years. Europe stand by hopefully sanity will return though I am not sure of that.. .
I feel so darn lucky to be in a safe place in America, everytime my family talks about traveling or moving to a different state I'm like "HELL TO THE NO" I hear about all the bullsh-- that goes on all around everywhere else in this country, vermont is nice!
Yet people from all over the world still want to come here to study, to work, and to live. Maybe the word hasn't gotten out.
Well the saddest part is that America thinks it's the best country and likes to criticize other countries , while they still with their health care system and security
Wow. It's hard to face, but this is one of the truest things for Americans to hear. I pride myself on being a good person, but this is hard for me to hear. I know it's true though.
and people wonder why i think the rest of the world hates the USA, its not my fault im not old enough to make a difference, its not my fault i was born in the United states, it's not my fault that our government is ran by a mad dictator, im sorry that you guys have to put up with my country but all i ask is that i get to live in peace without being sent death threats online for my nationality.
this makes me want to cry. There are so many nice and wonderful people in my country and THIS is what everyone sees and thinks.
(2)We have a long way to go on healthcare, systemic racism, and gun control, etc. ad nauseum. But we still attract the best and brightest There are way more genuinely good, decent fair-minded people here in the US than those soapdish-brained jerks running around with guns and crying that wearing a mask takes their “freedom” away. Holy crap. Most people push back, but it is not as exciting to see that on TV. Like my hero Barack Obama, I still have hope despite the corruption that has tried to infiltrate and take down our government. I know that, if we can get through this election, we will begin to address our shortcomings. Are you all having fun now that we are not the grownup in the room???? Do you all like Russia’s brazen attempts to make nations into fascist governments? We are the best thing you all have, in terms of world power. And the grownups will be back very soon. Every country has noble and despicable people. Don’t throw stones.
Ouch. that's gotta hurt after your tangerine didn't get elected :(

Being in an argument, whether voluntarily or not, is one of the most emotionally draining situations you can get yourself into. It raises your blood pressure, and you may feel trapped by the opponent trying to prove their point no matter what.
It gets even more frustrating when the person you’re arguing with is proving a point that, in your eyes, doesn’t make any sense to begin with. Whether it’s anti-maskers, anti-vaxers, flat-earthers, or conspiracy theorists, anyone can have their own opinion, but as such, everyone can stand up for their own beliefs.
Luckily, there’re some tricks you should know to winning an argument. According to Susan Krauss Whitbourne, a professor emerita of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, you should start by knowing your facts.
“How many times have you made a claim about some piece of trivia only to realize, as soon as you’ve made that claim, that you’re completely wrong?” Such a situation doesn’t lead you anywhere and gives your opponent a straight shot to winning.

Apparently, It's Impossible For Women To Be Smart And Beautiful At The Same Time
Reminds me of a time i went on a speed dating: 4/5 dudes straight up told me that they're intimidated with intelligent women. The only one that did not - was a self sufficient, creative, ambitious and overall impressive guy
Seeing other person’s perspective may also help you in an argument. “You don’t have to agree with a foe in order to see his or her perspective,” says Susan.
“However, if you want to win an argument, you do need to be able to see the world the way your opponent does. Stepping into the mental set of those you argue with allows you to figure out what’s influencing them.”
If you figure out what’s triggering the person you’re arguing with, you can direct your focus there and showing a little empathy never hurt anybody.

Murdered By Kindness.
And the third thing is to remember that “Becoming defensive is one of the worst ways to win an argument.” Letting your opponent see that you've dug into your position with no other alternatives may lift the argument from bad to ugly. Moreover, if you let the other person realize that you’re open-minded, even if you're pretending to be, the argument may resolve itself.

A lot of immigrants work in jobs that others don’t want to do, majority have come for a better life and will take what they can, they have to start their lives all over again and they are not picky like many of us westerners (especially the privileged). They often take the lower paying jobs like trolley collectors, taxi/uber drivers, food delivery drivers and fruit pickers etc. What a lot of people don’t seem to understand is that a lot of these immigrants are well educated but their qualifications mean nothing because of where they are from and studied so they have to do it all over again.
