Have you ever wandered the snowy Ukrainian Carpathians? Have you ever taken a breath of nice, frosty air? Or maybe Coldness has tickled your eyes and your cheeks have been kissed by Winter?
The Winter Carpathians are a special, magical world of dreams: a snow-white planet created of fairy firs, rocks, and mountains embraced by the silver hands of Winter. You feel like you're lost in this spacetime, dancing in the pure sea of snowflakes hurtling towards you, putting their snowy wings on your shoulders. You raise your face to the sky, waiting for a hundred kisses, so cold but so sincere, and you’re feeling great happiness.
You’re trying to find the horizon, lines between Sky and Earth, but it’s impossible, it just doesn’t exist—everything has merged into one perfect self-being, the harmony of spaces. Charismatic pieces of ice, which used to run quickly, are frozen by the flawless beauty of Winterland. What a wonderful time to explore our incomparable nature!

My favorite photographer is Tommy Ingberg. Despite the difference in our photography styles, his works inspire me a lot. However, I guess the main creator of me as a photographer was nature. I’ve always wanted to have a memo from my travels because these moments are so important to me. I find it interesting to capture the views of nature, especially landscapes and macro photography. The last one is like another world hidden from our eyes. We can see it just by using lenses. Moreover, it always amazes me how the macro realm differs from the real picture. That’s why my favorite styles are landscapes and macro.
I also like portraits. But not typical boring ones with fake smiles and standard poses. I prefer creative shots, daring, abstractive, with a story behind them. Concerning portraits, I’m just an observer; however, I like taking selfies of myself by using different styles, makeup, hairstyles, etc. I can do some experiments with myself and I can embody what I have in mind. That’s why it entertains me.
Sometimes I feel burned out by editing photos because generally, I’ve got a lot of them and it’s really hard to pick up a bundle of the best shots. In addition to that, sometimes I wanna make these pictures more creative, and if there are numerous pics, I must dedicate more time to them, so it drives me crazy because I’m the type of person who needs to have her job done as soon as possible. I hate to postpone my deeds. So I can stay up late at night editing my photos until I’ve finished.
Well, fortunately, people like my photos, so it’s extremely encouraging. I know my time wasn’t wasted. I believe my most-liked part of the creative process is post-editing. Adjustment is an integral part of making photos better and more interesting, but it’s extremely considerable not to overdo a photo because the mood of a shot should remain the same. The same atmosphere, the same meaning, the same memory. I graduated from the Lviv National Academy of Arts (Ukraine) as an interior designer and artist, so my studying helped me a lot to find the right composition, how to harmonize colors, lines, and find the correct perspective.
The rest of you can hang out here but I'm leaving, going this way.
This knowledge honed my artistic taste and point of view. I also took photography courses. I don’t remember how I started taking photos but I’m 100% sure it was inspired by nature. The beauty of nature drives me to explore this wonderful world, to seize beautiful moments so I can enjoy them and share this sensation with people. When I have photos of places I visited, they warm me inside and I’m able to relive these moments again and again. Regarding macro photography, it’s all about exploration. You never know what you’ll see through macro lenses. It’s so fascinating, inexplicable, and brand new.
This brings back wonderful childhood memories of visits with my father's uncle. All I remember is being outside playing in the snow or skiing, taking the outer layers of clothes off when we were called in for food and they were frozen stiff, and a vague feeling of love, positivity and that everyone was very much enjoying being together. Winter Wonderland.
Nowadays I rarely take photos because of the Russo-Ukrainian war. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has affected everyone’s life. Right now I feel darkness, uncertainty, and emptiness. It’s hard to smile and look forward to the future because at this very moment a lot of Ukrainian warriors and average Ukrainian citizens are being killed by Russians who just want to seize Ukrainian lawful territories and exterminate Ukrainian culture. It’s not just the Russian government, average Russian residents support this war against the Ukrainian people. Russians have committed numerous terrorist attacks and they cheer for it. The war in Ukraine is still going on. It hasn’t ended yet.
Turned to the side I see a woman with long hair in a beautiful long gown leaning down.
These are just beautiful. I imagine it being very quiet there, hushed kind of. But despite all that beauty, I'm very happy not to be out in it, but indoors instead! You're a tough photographer!
I love those. Undisturbed nature... Please post more! I'm from Ukraine, but I've never been to those places in winter. Where is this?
