Moscow’s Journey to Christmas Festival is the largest winter festival in Europe, encompassing 78 venues throughout Russia’s capital from December 14 to January 13.

    Journey to Christmas provides a full month of endless entertainment, from open-air gigs to riding down giant ice slides. This year’s festival dedicated to theater features hundreds of performances based on both fairy tales and timeless classics staged by Russian and European theaters!

    The countless kilometers of colorful garlands, 100 large glowing art installations, and more than 500 live Christmas trees on display during the Journey to Christmas Festival make this the perfect time to visit Russia’s capital!

    The capital’s longest boulevard, Tverskoy, has been transformed into an amusement park for both children and adults. Kids can have fun at the many playgrounds, while their parents snap away at the festival’s most famous photo spot, the amazing light tunnel!

    The ice theaters on Red and Novopushkin Squares are definitely among the festival’s the most splendid venues! Here, visitors can take in Cinderella, Snow White, Swan Lake, and Chippolino, as well as other breathtaking ice shows starring Russian figure skating celebrities. Between performances, you’ll have the chance to go ice skating yourself!

    If you’re brave enough, you’ll have the chance to ride down an 8-meter high, 100-meter long ice slide in the very heart of the city! Inner tubes are available at the venue for free!
