Amazing shot! Shows the beauty of nature... but most of all shows the dedication of a patient wildlife photographer. The exact opposite of our Instagram culture.
...and in that darkest of nights, the kind with no moon, one thousand birds took flight. Off to who knew where, I only wished, I could go with them...
They are galahs and they are EVERYwhere here in Australia. Loud, too!
One day my love, you will know, that life is, wild, and we, are wild with it...
the water is so still, how did you manage a great shot at this angle, u got skills!
What a talent, his dad would have been " Made up" and I'm sure his mum is.
"Ancient Tortoise proverb: Those who wait long enough will be the first to spot humans acting stupid."
It amazes me how the brain puts all that visual perception together and makes a picture. I wonder how it looks. Does the spider choose which eyes to see with then switches to another set? Or, do they all see and and the brain maps it altogether for a panoramic view that we can only due with a camera or smart phone. Food for thought.
If Steve were able to speak from beyond the grave, I'm certain he would hold no resentment what so ever towards the animals that caused his tragic end. He died doing what he loved, an unfortunate victim of circumstance. His son does an amazing job keeping his legacy alive, and in that sense, Steve Irwin never died.
yellow-bellied black snake (common tree snake)...Dendrelaphis punctulatus
Frankly, I'd probably be the kind of idiot who would leave out dog food and feed these dingoes, thinking they were stray dogs... :\
All the reptile pics are great! No, ALL the pics are great! Beautiful work!
These are incredible, of course he has many more opportunities and access to funds and fancy equipment than other kids his age and that has helped, but I was impressed to see some real genuine talent here as well. Well done!
Gears are fact added to the beauty of the shot. BUT how he composed the images are above how a normal photographer or people can take. He has the eyes for beauty, skills to put it on photograph and that is really amazing! keep it up kid!

Yes, he has a nice camera and the ability to travel, but you can't buy the kind of patience it takes to get these kinds of shots. He really does have talent.
While some of his shots are good, who can afford that camera? I am a photographer, and I would love to have that camera! Plus, look at where he lives, and the chance he has to see those kinds of animals, I can't travel the world, or even Australia for that matter, or I am sure my photos would win awards too. They are good, but, sure he has had alot of help. My 8 year old granddaughter can take some really good photos, would love for her to have a camera like that.
Stunning photos, Robert Irwing deserves that award, normally I never take the time to click through all the pages of a post on Bored Panda, especially because some posts have 80 or more pages because everyone can add a photo here, but here it´s been worth clicking through all 10 pages, each of the pics´s fascinating!!!
I seen a lot famous kids become spoiled. But this kid is a good kid, and I know his parents raise him in a good way and positive vibe.
These are utterly amazing. He is only 12, 13?? The depth of maturity in these photos is incredible
Don't tell me now that expensive equipment and having a lot of money is not important to do great photos.
Yes, I think I can say that. If you read up on famous photographers you will find that there are some who started out with almost nothing but learned the skills and coupled them with talent. Expensive equipment means nothing if the talent isn't there.
Load More Replies...I'm a professional photographer and even I don't have $30,000 of equipment. Those big lenses cost a FORTUNE. Good equipment, unlimited opportunities and access certainly helps. A lot of these are lovely, but most are simply point and shoot... except the heron and the shark. He saw the moment and grabbed it. Good work.
Sees Brooklyn Beckham's 'work': facepalm. Sees Robert Irwin's work: faith in humanity restored.
Love the Irwin family Bindi and Robert are wonderful kids. A credit to Terri. Steve would be so proud.
The camera merely holds the lens that the eye and perspective of brilliance captures... Robert clearly has an eye for good composition and criticism isn't necessary.
little man is an awesome human being just like his dad was. damn i miss steve. he was a real gem.
For shots against a black backdrop, how was that done? Did he shoot a photo of an animal and photoshop the background to be black?
You can FEEL his respect for nature in his work. His dad would be so proud!
Amazing photography ... captures wildlife differently and beautifully !
It's so nice to see a follow up on what Steve' s children are up too. My daughter and I watched Steve Erwin's show and were amazed at how he had a love for all animals. So glad to see both children are now growing up to follow in their father's footsteps and sharing with the world. What patients and time it takes to capture these wonderful shots that most of us would never get to see. Thank you to Steve, Terri and your children for sharing with the public for all these years.
Beautiful! Several of the black and white photos are true works of art!
His father had an hand in Nature, invariably. Now the son has an eye for Nature. A legacy must be carried forward.
These are absolutely amazing photos!! Personally, our choices of subject would vary greatly. As Joanne Hudson commented, labels, even very brief, would be most helpful. He definitely has a great future ahead of him in whatever type of career he chooses. He certainly has access to some very fine, expensive equipment which allows him to capture images that others could not. He does have a great eyes for composing photos!! It is very, VERY difficult for me to choose ONE photo. So, I will give you a list of four photos by their number and list them in order of my favorite of these four to my least favorite; in truth, I love every one of these images!!! They are in order: 1. #5; 2. #15; 3. #27; and 4. #39.
Beautiful photos, Robert. You are very talented as was your father before you. Bless you both.
Great parents make great kids. I loved his father, and I'm happy to see young Bob following in his footsteps.
I never liked Steve Irwin because he liked to tease animals for entertainment. I hope that by being a photographer his son enjoys and shares his love of animals without touching them.
His love of all of these creatures shines through in all of the compositions
Absolutely brilliant! You definitely have "the eye" with your balance in story, color, light, and focus. I was thrilled to view your work!
#31 was my favorite, though I loved them all. Love seeing the birds with the Rhino and the interplay between species. Beautiful photography!
Gosh these are not only amazing shots but amazing composite- the presentation is unbelievable. At 13 even
Respect. It's true, he has a better start than most kids his age. But this is a much more responsible and healthy use of those funds and legacy. Let's not forget, he lives under his father's shadow. His choices will determine if he can pave his own path or cower under said shadow. If this is the kind of publicity he's making for himself, good on him.
Robert has talent and each photo is displayed in just the right color tone. I enjoy # 7 the best because it reminds me of the humming birds mother fed and the flowers she had while living in Mexico for twenty five years. Labeling where the subject was and what it is would be even better.
KID HAS TALENT. WISH ALL CHILDREN HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO HONE THEIR DESIRES.
Well it has more merit than Dances with the"Stars"with lots of very expensive equipment ,opportunity and exposure ,anyone can make good photos.
I did NOT think it possible! He has actually one-upped his father!!! LOL
Wow1 I love them all!I really like the Black and white photos! And Elephants are my favorite!
Gorgeous photos! You'd make your Dad proud, Robert. Just as much as your Mum.
Robert you have quite a talent, your photos are truly beautiful. I can't wait to see more photos in the future!!
These pictures capture a lot of expressions in animals I didn't even know they could have! Sorry about my comments, but they are inspiring my imagination
Love this kid! He is obviously an incredible photographer as well!
Not true. Someone that has access to a £3000 lens can do more than someone that doesn't. Also, he get to go all over the world taking photos, yeah, juat like every other kid does! Having access to a good camera that takes 10fps and high apeture lenses helps loads with both quality, ability of shots in low light, depth of field, etc. Someone that has beenall over the world can develop skills that 90% of photographers can't. How many kids can travel the world taking photos at his age? Ok, the person behind the camera composes the shot, but do yuo think he just took 1 shot of each animal? More like about 50 shoyts and then picked out the best ones! He's edited the s**t out of hem too... Also, I suppose his name and father had nothing to do with him getting awards either? Obvioulsy he didn't get this attension on his skill alone.......
Most pics are gorgeous, I just don't believe that when you Photoshop the background you can claim to have taken the picture, you have only taken part of the picture, the rest is not a real photo, just my opinion
Those are terrible things to say to a child who is trying to show his love of animals and pictures. You are the douchebag to say these things to a small boy who's Dad was so loved by a lot of us.
