30 Comics About Everyday Life Situations And Being In A Couple Made By Leo And Lily
Interview With ArtistToday we'd like to introduce you to Leo and Lily! Leo and Lily are a couple who created a comic series called "Amity Comics". The comics are mostly about their life as a couple. For those who are in a relationship, the said comics might be quite relatable as they explore the everyday life of a couple who is in a long-term relationship.
Bored Panda reached out to Leo and Lily to find out a little bit more about them and their comics.
"Amitycomics itself indicates love comics. The word amity is related to love, friendship and affection. Amity comics are created by Amity comics studio where my boyfriend and I handle all the work. The illustrations of 'Leo and Lily' are drawn by Lily and all the other stuff is managed by Leo. The illustrations pretty much show how we deal with events that happen in our daily lives.
We want to give a positive message to everyone, and by that, we mean that you should just enjoy your life!
When Lily was a child, she used to read comics and loved to draw... When we came into a relationship, we always shared comics with each other. One day Leo told me out of nowhere that I should also draw comics about us and that people would probably like it. And that's how 'amitycomics' started as we are still making progress in my art. We are also very glad to see this huge response from all over the world, thank you all!"

Load More Replies...For the life of me please someone tell us what he said, you can't do this to us
Load More Replies...Hi the user has been banned, we have found more similar accounts and have banned those too. Thanks for reporting!
Load More Replies...Been married over 20 years. Have celebrated New Years Eve like this for about the last 15 or 16 years. We both did the NYE party thing when we were younger, and for the first couple years we were married. Have to say that New Years Rockin’ Eve, the ball drop, the midnight kiss, and the 12:01am bedtime—-then waking up at a normal hour feeling rested and refreshed and ready to tackle the day (mostly taking down the Christmas tree and packing away all the decorations, then having a nice dinner) is way more satisfying than being out all night drinking, praising the porcelain goddess so much I swear my shoes came up, and having to nurse a vile hangover on January 1st.
I have no clue who this “jolly rancher” guy is, but I’m glad he’s gone:)
@jolly rancher… that second comment. Im 14. Please don’t say such rude things without thinking.
Shut up jolly rancher. All you want to do is hurt people. Why would you want to say nasty things all the time? I don’t care what you say to me, but you leave or stop. (We should report him)
Everyone is there anything we can do to get the jolly rancher/ your daddy person banned he is really annoying and inappropriate and toxic
Apparently Jolly Rancher isn't so sweet. Get the hint n take a hike bud
I wish, I have 3 younger siblings I don't fall asleep till 12 at the earliest.
First, we asked the artist if Lily had any life-changing influences that might have helped her with her art and art style in general when it comes to her comics.
“I am a big fan of manga, anime, and vector illustrations… When it comes to my art style, my most major influences have been the 'carry grow' style comics and other Asian vector illustration styles too.”
Art, in any kind of form, takes a lot of time not only to practice but also to produce, therefore we asked Lilu how long it takes her to fully finish her comics.
“It usually takes 5 to 6 hours, but it also depends on my mood. If I was too lazy to draw then it will take more than 6 hours. But I try to finish it in the expected time to post comics as early as possible for my followers.”
Being an artist is not easy, one can easily encounter a lack of inspiration, burnout, etc, so we wanted to ask the artist about her ideas for the comics.
“From all the comics I’ve done so far, 95% of comics are related to our daily life. It's like we are doing something and thought like, yes, this can be a comic! The other 5% of the comics come from our imagination, so anything that is motivational, inspirational, or just some self-love comics.”
As we mentioned before, sometimes creative work can cause quite a burnout, therefore we asked the artist how she dealt with that as well.
“You can't say no. Every job is tiring and exhausting. There are days where I’m highly recharged and also days where I’m tired because of my corporate job or deadlines. But I tried to make it simple for me. I want to enjoy the process even if it takes little time and if I'm not mentally ready then I go on a small break.”
We also asked the artist about how people reacted to her work.
“Our followers are called 'Tinnies'. They are supportive. Most people react pretty positively and most of the replies we get sound like this: ‘'These comics are related to us’ and some comments also say that our comics put smiles on their faces. We are happy that we can put smiles on their faces even if it is for just a second or minute.”
The creative process is not easy, but there are many enjoyable parts to it as shared by the artist.
“I love the coloring part of the whole process. Haha, like any child would, I guess. In linear or sketch we have to follow rules and maintain anatomy, but in the coloring part, we can fill any color that we want! Color changes the mood, different colors give different vibes.”
Artists tend to get motivated by a lot of things such as curiosity, the search for beauty, or even meaning. Therefore, we asked Lily about that too.
“One of the best things about being an artist is that you get to express yourself in a way that can be comforting! Art has a way of taking people away from the unpleasantness in the world and showing them that there is a happy place beyond that. Every artist wants to be independent. They want to make a career by doing what they love. We also want to spread happiness and be independent!”
Did you mean to put his or do you go by those pronouns? Just wondering.
Am I the only one cringing at all the snuggling these two do. I honestly couldn't be this cuddly with anyone the thought makes me cringe.
Maybe. But, it hurts my heart that you feel that way. Side note: your 'name' expresses a clue on your outlook. 🤷🏽♀️ If you would like someone to just casually chat with... it never hurts to ask. 😊 hint, hint...

I love them and I showed the ones we can relate to, to my husband. Thank you! I hope to see more later!
