This immediately moved me to tears, would that they could have homes where they sleep in and share love every night, but bless these humane beings for offering up sanctuary.

So sad we just came back from Greece . So many thousands of strays , both cats and dogs . Sadly most Greeks , unlike this cafe , don’t give a <|#%<? When it comes to animal welfare . They are part of the EU and need to be held accountable !!!

I bet this shop gets good business. I could no more get rid of my animals because of finances than a child, which I don't have. There's always a different way to try

The reason your country has these dogs is because nobody spays or neuter their animals.

In many countries, including mine I would think, this would be considered a health hazard and wouldn't be allowed. Fortunately stray dogs (as opposed to lost dogs who have a home) are very rare here. I can't recall ever seeing a stray dog and I'm 50.

This is good to see but Greece & so many other countries need to start being proactive in controlling the stray dog & cat population. TNR need to become a standard of care for these animals to survive.

All these eastern type countries treat dogs like trash! I can't imagine how many vets there are in these countries! I am glad that this coffee shop has compassion for the dogs! Thank you!

Poor sweets souls. It broke my heart to see all those lost cats and dogs in the streets. That's why I can't go to Greece anymore. But I adopted my blind cat from there. Besides the lack of his eyes he's perfectly healthy. He was adopted by a woman as a kitten but after a year she didn't want him anymore and brought him to the vet to get him euthanized. So glad the vet gave him to the animal wellfare. Every time I look at him I'm just happy he's not out in the cold fighting for food and creeping for some attention. :(((

I think this is really lovely and the shop owners are absolute saints but I am wondering how they combat any possible flea infestations? They're on the chairs so if they have fleas they could spread to patrons the next day... ?

When you see this kind of compassion and your comment is about fleas you surely can't see the beauty in this.

So sanitary rules for food establishments do not apply to them? Most of these dogs are not house trained. Can you imagine what it looks and smells like at the morning? Let’s eat there, sure.

it's a common practice to raise cheetah cubs with puppies as playmates. I think I heard that they do the same with race horse and goats.
