I always like to re-assign different roles for objects and things in my photography. This has been my aesthetic all along – seeing things in places that you don’t expect. For this fashion editorial, I wanted the model to have a “resting-bitch face” throughout the shoot. It is like she has the choice of wearing different expressions, but she still wants to have the same one for the rest of the week (the change of days is suggested by the different background colors and set compositions). I feel like looking lifeless and indifferent is the kind of photo that makes you wonder what is going in her head – what is she thinking? If the image makes you think beyond what you see, then that’s the most memorable one.
