While I was living in Canada, in that such amazing and beautiful place, full of opportunities, benefits in many ways, I was missing my past in Mexico so badly, around six years passed since I moved there, me trying to go back and meanwhile I was diagnosed with depression… without noticing it, I started to take pictures of random people from behind, making up stories that perhaps all of them might be passing through a rough time as well… then I realized that me taking photos of different people became a constant while I was deeply wishing them the best, hoping genuinely non of them where passing what I was feeling because, depression, is THE WORST FEELING IN THIS WORLD… and sometimes really there is nothing you can do to help that person, but to just really send the best wishes to them, light, blessings…. so I named this series WHEREVER YOU GO, I WISH YOU GOOD LUCK.
My statement of this project is:
“I truly believe the journey of life is not easy, no matter where you are, who you are, or where you go. So at the end of the day dear fellows, I wish you good luck” -Georgina Avila
The photos were taken in 3 different countries: Montreal, Mexico and Peru.
