I remember mine- it was Monday morning in January and my friend told me about it. I was relaxed thinking it would never reach.

My friend posted freaking out. I told her it was no big deal as long as everyone followed the procedures and limited their exposure to other people. Then that didn’t happen. People started acting like their lives were the only ones that mattered. I still believe in what I said at the beginning. If we would’ve just followed the rules and stayed home as much as possible, none of this would’ve been as bad as it is. Hindsight, I guess? I still haven’t sat in a restaurant or gone out just for the sake of it. I just don’t care to anymore. I spend less too.

My Mother (Who is a Physician) called me before I had even heard anything about Covid and said ‘There’s something out there spreading fast & you need to take this VERY Seriously.’ Knowing who she is, what she does professionally, & what she’s worked with medically in her profession it kinda freaked me out honestly. This was the first time ever she phoned me up in this way & we didn’t even live in the same country at that time. This was around Dec.2018 & that January is when Covid really dropped.

A very good friend of mine was diagnosed with it just as the news broke. But I suspect my daughter actually had it in January 2020. She and about half her school all had a virus that, according to the pediatrician, had a "new virus that acts like both the flu and strep throat." I can't help but wonder if the belief that kids weren't susceptible was simply because a fair amount already had it before the medical community knew what it was.
