I’ll go first. I used to think that pregnant women couldn’t tell when they where gonna give birth, so I thought that just around that time, she went to the hospital and I thought there where bags in the toilets for if she gave birth while pooping. Young Headless chicken was stupid

I thought I figured out Santa’s secret…that he was old Jesus. The pieces all fit together for this 4 year old.

I thought I knew how babies were made. I was sure women were “stingy” with kisses because if you kissed a guy three times you became pregnant. Yeah, believed thus until I was probably twelve.

When I was about three, my aunt (mom’s sister) was pregnant with her first baby. She’d always been (and still is) very tiny but she’d swelled up so much the only thing she could comfortably wear was one red maternity shirt. I asked Mom about it and she said it was my baby “cousint” (yes, I decided it had a “t” on the end of it). When she and my grandmother brought me out to my great-grandmother the morning m aunt went to the hospital, they told me they were going to get my baby cousint out from under the red shirt. My mom was always a round lady, and she *also* had a red shirt, sooo… I put two and two together and came up with… five: when we got home, I told our neighbors (who happened to be Dad’s elderly, childless aunt and uncle) that we were getting a new baby out from under the red shirt too. Needless to say, I’ve known how the babies get under the red shirt for a VERY long time! It’s actually been a family joke for almost 48 years now, and everyone gets a red shirt to go to the hospital in so they can get the baby out. The first baby cousint’s first baby is getting married soon (she came out from a red shirt too!) and I’m looking forward to giving her her own red shirt so she can get the third generation of babies from red shirts!

As kids, my mom would yell at us to “Hurry up and get ready!” in the morning, “Or you’re going to make me get fired!”

I was 12 years old before I learned that didn’t mean she was going to get thrown into the fiery pit of hell I had imagined. Needless to say, I grew up in a strict religious family.
