My female sibling, 71, and her disgusting then fiance, 81, decided to leave her cats with no food, no water, and the box with the mother and kittens in a box in the back yard open to the heat and sunlight of the Florida sun. Add to that, dogs and other animals. I had contacted Animal Control previous to them leaving, but they convinced the officer that the 6-8-year-old cats were feral, as were the mother and kittens. I have since written to the director of animal control explaining the situation, telling her that the kittens have been rescued, and are being bottle-fed, I am feeding and giving water to the others twice a day, but I feel that they need to be charged with animal neglect, no vaccinations, no licensing, abandonment, and above the number of alloted animals. They thoroughly disgust me, and the whole neighborhood is in disbelief. One of my doctors even gave me money for a large bag of food!I will do whatever it takes to save them. What do you think?

They definitely need to be charged for animal abuse with an appropriate punishment of serving time in jail.

This breaks my heart. Both of my cats were abandoned by their previous owners, and while I'm so glad I found them and have become a part of the family, it angers me that they were discarded like trash. I'm glad you are helping out the cats, good for you. Does your sister have any mental or physical health issues that might impact how she can care for the animals? I'm also wondering about her husband. Was she always neglectful? Did she change after getting married? Regardless she shouldn't be caring for others if she can't care for herself. I hope the best for the cats and all involved.
