Most rules are for safety or function. However some schools have some unfair rule.

To start off the post, at my old elementary school, they had this rule that whenever the music is on you can't talk. Now I mean in the cafeteria. Like, what! Now they would do a 25 min lunch and they would do 5 min talk 10 min music. The idea was it would make us eat because despite not eating for 3, 4 hours, when most kids would be hungry, they had to force us to eat the food. It was that bad. So we would talk for 5 min and then the music would turn on. The teachers could still talk to each other but we had to be silent. We always joked that we should convince the 5th grade to keep talking despite music because they couldn't arrest us all, but nothing ever became of it.

Not my school (well my school before I graduated) but a friend's. The new principal made a new rule that you can't have really short hair, like not shorter than a number 4 clipper. Apparently really short hair is 'unprofessional'. My friend got a buzzcut before he went back to school after summer holidays and was sent home on the first day because it was too short- like, what can he do, it won't grow back in one day!

Oh goodness, where to start? Well, we could only go to the bathroom twice a day this past school year. This spawned from a stupid boy who vandalized the boys’ bathroom. Even still, they put the rule on both bathrooms. I understand what they were trying to do, but they could’ve done something better. However, the teachers could go whenever they wanted to and boasted about it all the time. My teachers were the worst. I can’t wait to leave that school.

Girls weren’t allowed to wear a tank top for gym or dance but boys could go shirtless or wear a tank top.
