Share on FacebookNot weird at all in the UK, it's called a chip butty. I usually make one when having Fish and Chips.
I was just about to say that--my husband loves them and would be thrilled about this! But I do love Wendy's twitter.
Load More Replies...Fast food chains ridiculing each other's food is like anti-vaxxers ridiculing each other's healing ability. All of them are selling junk food after all, pretty much consisting of farm-factory produce and meat that is neither sustainable nor tasty.
"...farm-factory produce and meat that is neither sustainable nor tasty." So, same stuff most Americans eat every day.
Load More Replies...Do they think they've invented a chip butty? Did they hire an English person who told them about the concept and they mistakenly used French fries instead?
I thought that British are smarter and more responsible.
Load More Replies...I'm gonna get downvoted but I don't care. Fries on bread are delicious. And if you add some sliced banana it becomes decadently yummy.
I'm not going to down-vote you, Pittsburgh; What is also delicious is fried portabella mushroom and onions on a whole grain bun.
Load More Replies...I thought, the Brits are insane, when I first heard of chip butties. Eventually I tried one and they are actually pretty awesome. The Wendy team needs to get a grip.
How horrible, an (admittedly mediocre) dish without a dead animal in it! How can we cope?
The absence of a dead animal is the only admirable aspect of that dish.
Load More Replies...This is complete c**p, I love Burger King, and Wendy's is just jealous.
The US is getting culture at Last. Chip Butties as you say Steve, but the poor Americans only have A1 sauce instead of HP or Daddies and they don’t have vinegar. But it‘s a start.
I work in an American restaurant and we have both HP and malt vinegar so...
Load More Replies...Have Americans never heard of a hot chip roll with butter and gravy? Lol! You are a weird lot! ✌
maybe people would like that? can you let people decides if they like it or not? instead of shaming them?
Yep..I like Wendy's, but the restaurant near us got a 79.5 C rating. I ain't going there.
It's not a joke, it is a tragedy!!! How can the abhorrent destruction of the environment, the self-inflicted decadence of human health (we are facing health crisis and opioid crisis for reason) and, above all, the egregious abuse and immense suffering of innocent farm animals be acceptable to any half conscious human being??? 1. - NO NATURE, NO FUTURE: "He who does not value life, does not deserve it." - Leonardo Da Vinci. Animal agriculture is a major contributor to our planet's most significant environmental threats, much greater than industrial and car pollution. People eat more than one million animals per hour!!!! It's totally irresponsible and utterly, unconscionably cruel. In U.S. three hundred farm animals are brutally slaughtered every second, and for what? For that insatiable appetite for meat. 2. - NO MERCY, NO JOY: "Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace." -Albert Schweitzer .
I haven't eaten fast food in 20 years, but when I did, Burger King was NEVER renowned for their fries. AT LEAST PUT A LOT OF CHEESE ON THAT THING.
Its like that time they tried to sell a new invention called a Pastry Dog only to be told its an old recipe called a sausage roll. So what do you think will be next? Beef and offal in pastry dish with a pastry lid? Meat and Veg in a pastry taco? Well?
Burger King needs to focus on putting hot food out the drive-thrus . They consistently serve luke warm food
Hot food?!? How about cooked food. I got their original chicken sandwich and their deluxe chicken sandwich. The little idiot at the fryer thought they cooked in the same time frame. I got home..original chicken sandwich was cooked, deluxe was raw in the middle. And for that..I waited 20 minutes in the drive through for the food. I took it back..manager was apologetic. Refunded me my money for the sandwich..gave me the correct sandwich and free drink. But I will never order chicken from them again.
Load More Replies...Yes, it takes some character to sell harmful products.
Load More Replies...Is this serious? Are they seriously testing fries with bread? Plain buns? Just... normal fries, ketchup, mayonnaise and bread? This is ridiculous ROFL :D
Look up "chip butty". It's a British thing to have chips in a bun, though we use actual proper chips, not fries.
