Siberian Forests Are On Fire And I Can‘t Be Silent, So I Created A Series Of Posters
I was born in Siberia, Russia, and I currently live in Moscow. I am a contemporary artist and reportage photographer. I have a vast variety of projects in my portfolio, ranging from projects made in the technique of cubism photography using mirrors “ArchAvolution” and “Amalgam” to the photo project “Sibiryaki” about the peoples of the Russian North (which required to drive more than 16 thousand kilometers), to the project about the red list of endangered species and nature conservation.
Now, in my homeland, Siberia, a catastrophic natural disaster is occurring – more than 2 million hectares of industrial forest have been destroyed in wildfires. The smoke of the forest fire reached the Urals. The “black sky” regime was introduced even in regions where there is no fire. The situation is aggravated by dry and calm weather.
The restoration of the forests will take at least 60 years. I will be 86 by then… I can’t be silent! So I created a series of posters about this tragedy in hopes of raising social awareness. For my poster designs, I burned photos and understood how powerless we are in front of the elements and how Mother Nature depends on our help.

Share on FacebookWas actually on our nations news channel. Huge fires currently across the northern part of our globe (Antarctica, Siberia etc.). Sorry to see your ancient & wonderful forests currently burning. But what I am most concerned about are the possible huge quantities of additional CO2 released due to all those fires. And as already mentioned, Siberia has those huge permafrost areas, containing huge loads of CO2 sealed within Siberia's ground, if that gets the chance of being released (in combination with our current CO2 emissions).........well..... you know.... :-(
Antarctica is the continent down south, the Arctic is the polar region up north of the Arctic Circle (66° 33'N)

Once a mighty forrest, now cut down and burned to the ground. How sad, how tragic and how terrible not only for all the animals, the plants, the people who once lived there but also for the rest of the world. The frozen methane are melting and it will only get worse.
So what is going on? I take it there is a lack of media coverage? Is nobody working to put them out?
Our government sucks, that`s what`s going on. They are putting them out now, but the forests have already been burning for like or week or even longer and the damage is already done. Thousands and thousand of kilometers of forests are burnt to the ground, animals dead and their homes destroyed and many people are suffering from the smoke that is spreading from the fires and there`s nothing they can do about that. Our corrupted government needed to hide how much wood they illegally sold to China and here you go, what a perfect chance to do that, just let the fires spread some more and no one will be able to know, what was burnt by fire or was cut and sold.
