Even though in this day and age, everyone and everything has a social media account, people still sometimes manage to share the most bizarre and incomprehensible things. Your weird uncle making a questionable post is one thing, but what about your favorite fast food chain? The “Weird stuff on official accounts” Facebook page is dedicated to cataloging and sharing the most unhinged posts made by companies and celebrities.

We got in touch with one of its admins, Tarren Brady, to learn more. So get comfortable as you scroll through, upvote your favorite posts and be sure to share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Bored Panda got in touch with Tarren Brady, one of the admins behind “Weird stuff on official accounts” and he was kind enough to answer some of our questions. Naturally, we were curious to hear just how the group got started in the first place.

“As for inspiration on the creation of the group, none of the current admin team can answer that. Jack Goult created the group 6 years ago, but he has long disappeared and has not interacted in the group in years. Dominique and I ran the group by ourselves on and off for a while until I brought in the rest of the admins who are friends of mine and a team for another few groups we have together.”

It's probably regarding that proverb that states once you save someone's life, you are responsible for that person for the rest of their life. What have you done for him lately?

The group boasts membership in six figures, so we were curious to hear why Tarren thought so many folks were drawn to its somewhat unhinged content. “The main thing that keeps the group so active and engaging is some of the wild stuff posted by official accounts. Almost all posts in the group are submitted by group members.”

“Some brands have decided to capitalize on the popularity that these odd posts bring them, while others are just plain wild and like to stir the pot. Sometimes brands think something is perfectly normal and it just isn't taken by the public how they hoped it would,” he shared with Bored Panda.

Those cups really should have a pouring point on the rim so they could be reused at home as measuring jugs. Think about recycling folks.

“We get surges of members joining where some days 20 people will want to join, and others we get 1k+ in a day. As long as official accounts keep posting weird [stuff] online, we will keep sharing it in here for everyone to laugh at!” After all, fail content is the bread and butter of the internet, people just can’t get enough of it.

Cops are power hungry, a*****e, pieces of s**t out to get you. The USA (Land of the "Free") ALWAYS has 1/3 of its adult (not even including under 18 too) population in prison, jail, on probation, on parole. The USA is a population of 350,000 million. Think about that. Now, minus the kids and the elderly. "Free?" Whoever told you that is your enemy. The USA also has the largest prison population than anywhere on the PLANET.

He shared some final thoughts on the people that made the group possible in the first place. “The group is a lot of work quarreling with so many people with so many different beliefs, especially some weird official posts that are controversial, but are a team. None of this would be possible without the help of Heather, Aphaea, Kaz H., Steven S., Nathan, Kaz W., and Steven C.”
