Reminds me of a story my dad told me of his college where there was a tank with one really big octopus and another with a bunch of little octopuses. The little ones were disappearing one, each night, so they set up a camera (a bigger deal back when he was in college) and caught the big octopus opening the cover his his tank, crawling the length of the shelf between his and the other tank, eating a little octopus, crawling back and replacing the cover once he'd returned. Could have been urban legend at his college but my dad believed it.
