Don’t tell me it’s not fun to get your soda served in a soup container or a hazelnut latte served in a… can of Nutella? Okay, just kidding. This sounds like sheer torture, and who even does this? I mean, big round of applause for business owners who take their creativity to a whole new level, but there should be boundaries of common sense and functionality.
Well, if you've ever had your drink served in a ludicrous container and dreamed of having a good old cup instead, this online community is for you. The “We Want Cups” subreddit is a safe place to share our frustration by showcasing drinks that should have (but unfortunately, haven’t) been served in cups.
And oh boy, the whole collection is some painfully funny entertainment that will make you reevaluate your boring ceramic morning cuppa with a stupid scribble on it, because as you see, it always can get much worse.

Cocktail In A Bag. The Color Didn’t Help
exactly what i thought. I hope the plastic waste will come to an end. But this is how you buy drinks for takeaway in asia 😊
Load More Replies...This happened when I bought a coca cola in Vietnam. They poured it in a bag and gave me a straw. I would rather have paid for the bottle..
I saw a lot of these in Vietnam. They put sugercane juice in the plastic bags.
The straw ruins it all. They should have served it with a hose. (To make it even worse.)

Jello Shots Being Served Out Of Hard-Boiled Eggs
Portobello Mushroom Latte, Me
Across America and Europe, bars and restaurants are following a relatively new trend of serving beverages in very creative containers. Many business owners believe that these creative and kooky vessels not only make the drinks more fun to sip, but bring that wow factor that sets them apart from their nextdoor competitors.
But no matter the presentation of your beloved iced tea, at the end of the day, it’s the inside that counts. Especially when Americans have very specific preferences about their beverages, with some of us avoiding bottled water at all costs, and others opting for convenience.

A Cocktail In Two Parts. Equally Stupid
What the actual hell. This would pair nicely with the spaghetti served in a dresser that I saw on an old post 😃
Recently, a survey from Statista found what beverages people in the US consume the most, and on which ones they give a hard pass. The most commonly consumed beverage is bottled water, which makes up 24.8%. Turn out, the average American consumer drank roughly 40 gallons of bottled water in 2018 alone, so you can imagine the number soared during the pandemic when everyone stayed at home.
The second most consumed beverage is carbonated soda drinks, which make up 21.9% of the consumed beverages. The third most popular drink in America is coffee, with 12.6% consumption share.

Hot Coffee... Too Hot To Hold The Bowl. We Want Cups!! (Or At Least A Friggin Handle)
On the other end of the scale, we have energy drinks, value added water and spirits that are the least favorite beverages among Americans. Although when it comes to spirits, the pandemic has clearly put them back in the spotlight with home cocktail culture soaring. According to the research firm Nielsen, sales of spirits at the end of March climbed 75% compared to the same period last year.

All of these "trendy" or whatever these pretentious places are trying to be...just stop. Please, just use a reguler glass that CAN BE CLEANED properly. Some of these...Theres no good way to actually CLEAN them well. And what does the leather bags and bell peppers make the drink taste like? Sweet baby jesus on a bumpy bike...
The ones inside lemon rinds, acovado skin and waffles aren't *too* bad. Assuming the insides of the fruit have been used in normal food preparation and not just hollowed out to make a drink, it's almost acceptable upcycling! But the rest are just ludicrous, surely they can't be effectively cleaned, and in what world is a plastic bag more environmentally friendly than a paper cup?!
Yeah I like the idea of using a lemon, orange, or other food item that would normally be thrown away! But, yeah everything else is insane.
Load More Replies...This is what you get in a world of influencers. Everything is made to be instagram worthy, not practical or hygienic.
With several of these I was wondering if you knew in advance what you would get?! If I knew and still ordered it - my problem. If I had no chance knowing this in advance and, for example, my coffee came in a mushroom I would definitely refuse to accept that. Some choices were nice (like the hot chocolate in the waffle) but others were downright disgusting...
Thought the same. Wish they just used good old reusable glass/steel.
Load More Replies...too much use of plastic when the restro can easily serve it in metal or glass utensils. From aesthetic to environment wise, these are and should be big NO!
And to think I remember when it was considered "exotic" to serve pina coladas in a coconut shell. ;-)
Would you like that in a bag, a mushroom or a nautilus shell? ;-)
Load More Replies...The ones that strike me as the worst ones are those served in containers that aren't made from food grade materials. That's not remotely safe. How exactly are you washing and sterilizing the inside of a leather pouch? (And if you're just throwing them away after one customer, I have additional issues.)
There was an ad between this posts and I was like: they serve food in denims. Ok. Until I realised it wasn’t part of the list. It’s how crazy those are
This is what you get in a world of influencers. Everything is made to be instagram worthy, not practical or hygenic.
A few of these are reasonable ideas, but the obsession with being "different" has made me feel like I need to specify a glass with any drink I order in future, just in case!
Next do the restaurants that serve food in and on pieces that surpass these receptacles. Many of them specialize in molecular gastronomy. http://vespertine.la/
Worse than any of these was the exclusive gay bar where beautiful young men were reverse-cathetered with wine and served it urethrally like living botas.
I'm tending toward all of these being fake. You know where the downvote is.
