300lbs Woman Reveals What 3 Years Of Workout Did To Her Body, And Her Transformation Photos Are Unbelievable
At 22 years old, Laura Micetich AKA ‘The Iron Giantess’ weighed over 300lbs and was facing a raft of health issues including hyperthyroidism, high blood pressure, and prediabetes. She realized that without a radical change in diet and lifestyle choices, her precious youth would be lost already, and she was facing a short and difficult life.
“I decided to take charge of my life and make a change,” she said. “After trying and failing to get a handle on my health numerous times, my weight had become a serious enough concern that I was considering weight loss surgery.”
However, she instead began to go down to her local gym, where she quickly found an affinity with weight lifting. So much so, that it became clear that surgery wasn’t going to be necessary at all. “What initially began because of consideration for weight loss surgery quickly grew into an intense love of health, fitness and nutrition,” she writes on her website. “I started by going to the gym, lifting weights, and eating a healthy diet tailored to my body’s needs. It only took a few weeks for me to realize that I didn’t need to go under the knife. I needed to get under the bar.”
“In the first year, I shed more than 100 pounds without surgery and significantly changed my unhealthy habits. I am now health issue free, and my life has changed for the better with the simple realization that what we want and what we do are completely in our own control.”
It all sounds so simple, doesn’t it? While there are a billion techniques, fad diets, pills, nutrition plans, and other methods out there, Laura’s story proves that a little discipline, hard work, and common sense can produce amazing results. “I just adjusted my diet. I ate lots of clean foods and removed all starches and processed sugars. I stopped eating out. I stopped getting takeout. I stopped buying junk at the grocery store. I stopped having alcoholic drinks with friends. I stopped binging on crap. That was it.”
Combined with the newfound healthy lifestyle and discipline that lifting weights at the gym offered her, Laura saw the pounds begin to shed rapidly with none of the excess skin that many other rapid weight loss diets tend to leave behind. What began as a body transformation journey has become a life long passion for Laura, and she shares her results and tips on Instagram where she has over 330,000 followers.

She was pretty before, now she is gorgeous, not just on the outside. Her whole attitude has changed and that manifests in her appearance. Excellent.
I was looking great when I was young and free too, doing sports everyday, eating healthy and all.... And then... Full time employment came. I seriously want workers' rights and laws to improve here in Korea. When will they understand that it's not about laziness....
so agree with you. i have 3 kids. i'm waking up at 5 am, waking them up, breakfast, school, work, homework, disches... after everything is done and my kids are in bed it's 8pm and only 1 hours left before going to bed, and dead tired... and i don't even talk about cleaning the house and kids activity... so yeah i totally understand the time we don't have. when i didn't have kid i was lazy i'm agree, but now i can't find the time. i barely have the time to clean the house sometime.
Load More Replies...While I think she is (and was) absolutely gorgeous, and good for her, unfortunately, not everyone can do that. I have a chronic disease, and no matter how hard I tried, exercising for me just isn't the option. The worst thing is I love exercising. But my body doesn't. I congratulate her but I am a bit sad for all people who really can't do the same, no matter how much we want.
The diet is what dropped the vast majority of the weight, the gym mostly makes you look good naked. That sucks you can't exercise, but people lose weight in the kitchen, not the gym.
Load More Replies...Just the inspiration I needed! I was diagnosed with "NASH" (Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis) seven years ago and have done nothing about it. It's worse than NAFLD, because I not only have a very very fatty liver, that is inflamed, but it also has cirrhosis. Lately, I've been eating terribly, drinking tons of Coke, sugars, starches, fast food and processed foods. My liver aches. Been listening to a book about it and now I'm scared. Facing a liver transplant and possibly death. NASH usually has no symptoms until it's too late, and my pain in my liver is scaring the hell out of me. Time to do something, and start losing weight, eating healthier and taking charge! I KNOW I CAN do it!!
We know you can do it. I wish you the best of luck. (^_^)
Load More Replies...She must be exceptionally tall, because even at her heaviest she in NO WAY looked to be over 300lbs! Beautiful before, beautiful AND healthy after. Congrats!!
I was curious how tall she is too, 300lbs does not "look like" 300 lbs on her frame.
Load More Replies...Impressive. How does she not have extra skin or stretch marks? I lost 40 lbs with diet and working out like a crazy person and I'm marked up like a zebra.
She was 22/23 when she lost 100lbs - at her age skin bounces back easily. I've lost 60lbs (and going) at 41 & it 'aint bouncing back.
Load More Replies...Friggen picking my jaw up off the floor right now wow that's impressive good on her
195lbs where?! Is she 6'2 and all muscle?? I don't get it lol
The best part is, she weighs 195 pounds still and looks amazing. WEIGHT means nothing. I have always weighed more than my friends and it always made me seriously uncomfortable but I also have way more muscle than my girl friends and THATS what made me heavier, not fat.
Right, I'm always mad when they forgot to mention someone's high. She's 6' tall.
Load More Replies...When someone is at the gym so much, when do they work/sleep? I would love to devote my life to obtaining the body that I want, but how do you do that and live?
How much leisure time does the average person spend looking at screens for entertainment? Less Netflix, more gym.
Load More Replies...Great for her :-) Especially good that she didn't have the consequence of loose skin. I actually searched the article for "skin" to see if that was an issue. Hopefully she is able to maintain a lifestyle that supports this level of fitness, since lifestyle is what it's all about. I need more activity and I know it. Getting my a*s in gear and getting out for exercise when the weather is too hot or too cold is a problem, and I hate gyms (and can't afford them). Feeling the motivation to change our lifestyle can be the hardest thing of all; much harder than the physical effort to do the work.
This post literally has made me cry. I'm so proud. I've been there myself, I am almost my dream weight, I was over 130kg which is 286lbs... right now, I am 177.5lbs (80.7kg) and I am almost my dream weight!!!!!! 79kg!!!!!! I'm almost there!!!!!!! I will not give up or give in, this article motivated me even more!!!!!! Thank you! Also, some people say that they have busy life etc. And no time. Hi. I suffered in a car accident, my life isn't easy either. So stop being so stubborn and stuck up or "knowing better". Face it, you can do it. You just don't want to.
She is incredible. I had to see how tall she is to look like that at 195. At six feet tall, she has to be solid muscle. She is truly an inspiration.
Sometimes it's just cheaper to have take out, eating healthy means more money, but then again I'm just lazy 💁
I massively admire what she's done and the dedication and time and effort she put into this. However I do feel that the later images - her waist looks tiny in comparison to the rest of her body. As long as it's healthy.... Sadly sometimes things like this can become a new addiction and can get out of hand. Hope she is well and not overdoing it xx
I mean no offense Mylah, but I think people just aren’t used to seeing healthy peoples bodies. Especially young people. I would love to be that healthy.
Load More Replies...great story. sadly I would never be happy at either size. The one thing I want to change is something I can't. Stretch marks x\
You go girl friend, well done. Be proud, be healthy, be humble, and stay strong.
very nicely done !!! those that say "it my genetics" "i have a thyroid condition" are just making excuses for their lack of dedication and no willpower
And some people say that reaching to a body like this is impossible. Look how happy and awesome she looks with her flat belly. It may take sacrifices, but it's totally worth it.
All this "don't get takeout, don't eat processed whatever, dont binge on anything" is not. Necessary. There is no need to be that radical. And doing all that without researching first is not healthy. That just sets a bar most people can't follow. Why not start with something like "Move more. Eat a little less." That is basically all there is to it - and it's a goal people can actually REACH. Walk to the store. Leave your car at home. Take the stairs. Eat an apple instead of candy. (tip: apples from the refridgerator, cut into thin slices? Heaven in this heat.)
Some of the loose skin issues has to do with rate and type of weight loss, but some has to do with genetics. She is lucky to have not have the loose skin issues. Her journey is impressive and inspirational - congrats to her on her positive health outcomes!
Seeing her current appearance, I don't understand how she can weight 195 lb. She looks amazing. Is she six and a half feet tall or something? ❤️😍💋🌹
She is stunning it is hard to believe it is the same person. Brave and beautiful to take on a difficult thing like this and to make a complete turn around Bravo! May you live long
WOW. What a transformation. It's amazing what weight loss does for people's facial features.
Awesome! You really can do anything you want to accomplish with determination!
She said that her current weight is 195 pounds. No way! She looks like she weights no more than 120 lbs in her recent photos.
How tall is she? She was 180??? And now she's 195??? But she looks like that? Something isn't right in this article.
Just curious, how tall is this woman? I just ask because she sure doesn't look like she could weigh 195 now unless she's over 6 feet tall. Her current picture looks more like 135.
Girl, you look fabulous !! You are an inspiration for everyone !!! I would "kill" for that stomach , keep up the good work, never quit, may GOD bless you for your dedication and spirit.
She doesn't have loose skin not because she lifted weights but because she is very young.
She wrote on Instagram something else also...
Load More Replies...Where did the skin go? I always thought the excess skin will stay. Did it shrink or did she get surgery?
She lost weight over a long period of time, so the skin had time to adjust. Usually we see people who had a gastric band surgery, and the weight loss is so rapid the skin can't keep up
Load More Replies...Awesome. She shouldn't suck in her stomach as much though. Good that she changed on the inside as well as out.
She's not as beautiful as she was a few "stages" before the last one. Now it's too much, for what's my point of view about beauty, but if she feels great that's all that matters.
So she wasn’t pretty before! Liking you’re body has nothing to do with pretty. This is why some girls and women have such disphoric images of themselves.
Load More Replies...Apparently, she's 6 foot, so that's how she can be 195, be all muscle, and look like that.
Load More Replies..." I think this is not a healthy message to send out to people.". That's the stupidest thing I've seen in ages. She lost weight with clean eating and the gym. That's how it's done. As for her microbiome, how do you think she changed it? Diet, dummy!
Load More Replies...I'm not trying to sound harsh but why is her showing her own progress 'diminishing' others' efforts? Her words tell people to keep trying, just put one foot in front of the other and that IS progress... she's encouraging others not bringing them down. I don't understand from where your negativity is coming?
