That's the nice version of my first reaction to the parents! Mine was much more profane.

What really burns me, is that the parents are paying for everything for their son's shotgun wedding and it sounds like they didn't help with their daughters wedding? What the heck. If they're 'Hardcore Christians', isn't it traditionally the parents of the bride that pay for the wedding? She'd be absolutely right to cut them out of her life. They've made it quite clear that their son is far more important to them than their daughter. I feel sorry for her.

Reminds me of some comedian who said "Going to church every Sunday doesn't make you a good Christian any more than hanging out in a garage makes you a mechanic."

Parents seem to be more concerned about getting their son married 'cause his girlfriend is pregnant than thinking about the "sinning" that made that happen. Fake Christians, more concerned about appearances than good behavior. (Note: I have no problem with sex out of wedlock, but theoretically the parents do; they're not acting that way.)

Don't haphazardly put in church on Sunday unless you know for sure. There is no need to bash church going.

Wow. No one would want to cause a scene, but the temptation to loudly say"sorry my sister being dead is an inconvenience for you" would be hard to resist.

reminds me of the phone call I made to my cousin when my older brother was killed in a plane crash that I was also supposed to be on but changed my mind right before. She cried to me, " OMG, how much more can I take?!" and I say, "Uhm, it's my brother who died." and she said, "I know! I can't take anymore!" like it was perfectly ok to lament to me that she wasn't able to handle it. They were not even slightly close.
