We Painted The Biggest Cow In The World

Introducing the biggest cow in the world at Darigold in Sunnyside, Washington! Vermont artist D.J. Barry and Texas artist Steve Davis completed the 44′ x 66′ mural in 7 days using 93 giant hand cut stencils and spray paint!

Darigold’s World Cow is the largest in the world. D.J Barry founded World Cow in 2016 and it has since turned into a global movement promoting the message: we’re all spots on the same cow. Artists and friends around the world have helped D.J. paint World Cows in 30+ countries.

World Cow supports a variety of charities worldwide and they are teaming up with Darigold to celebrate this painting by setting up a Go Fund Me to help support Immigrant Families in Washington State. D.J. Barry will be randomly giving away World Cow products including original paintings to people who donate to our campaign which can be found here:

Here’s the press release for our new fundraiser:

Support Immigrant Families in Washington State

We recently painted a giant World Cow mural for Darigold — a farmer-owned dairy cooperative in the Northwest U.S. —at their Sunnyside processing facility. The 44-by-66-foot mural of a Holstein cow with spots arranged as a world map is the largest cow we have ever painted.

Our goal? To promote goodwill in Washington and beyond, while spreading our message of love and unity — “We’re All Spots on the Same Cow.”

This epic project required me (World Cow founder DJ Barry) and my friend Steve Davis to paint all day, every day for seven days straight. It was hard work, but the surrounding community made it 100% worthwhile.

As we painted from a giant boom lift, racing to complete the project before wetter weather moved in, Sunnyside came out to show their support. Our work not only attracted Darigold employees working at the facility, but also other community members, including buses full of school children on the way to and from school.

Their enthusiasm and friendship inspired us so much, we decided to do more to give back to the community. That’s when we found Nuestra Casa.

Founded in 2003 by Sister Mary Rita Rohde, the non-profit organization provides a range of services for immigrant families in Washington’s lower Yakima Valley— especially women.

Each year, the 501 (c)(3) assists around 1,000 immigrant adults by providing workshops, referral services and classes— including English language classes that are accessible to entire families.

Please help us raise funds for this wonderful group that is helping to ensure immigrant families in the lower Yakima Valley have access to the tools and resources they need to succeed.
