We Created An Instagram Page With Contactless Hug Videos From All Over The World To Combat Social Distancing

1080 Pixels Closer

Because of social distancing, thousands of people – including us – can’t be with their friends, their partners, their families. Even more, the whole wide world has lost the opportunity to be together. But we’re all strangers until we go through the same thing together. We asked ourselves, what is that one true thing that makes you feel better right away when you’re feeling down and lonely. We realized the answer is the most universal way to give support and comfort: hugging someone. Then we wondered, what if you can hug the whole world? So we created 1080 Pixels Closer, an Instagram page where people from any part of the planet can receive a hug, and give one with #1080pixelscloser. All from within our homes. Our goal is to make everyone feel a little bit closer. Precisely 1080 pixels closer, the size of an Instagram post.
