Spooky, thank you for your comments. First of all, I need to mention that I've never studied how to paint. I started painting 3 years ago - those were oil paintings on stones. You can see that in my previous posts if you want. As for watercolors - I tried it for the first time this summer. And all of these - are really my first watercolor paintings. And by this post I actually wanted to encourage anyone who never studied any kinds of art - to try at least. Because you never know how it will work out. Especially if you will practice a little. This post is not about false belief, it is the opposite. Have a nice day! :)

Also I'm very disappointed in the Original Poster for failing to mention their previous art experience since this wasn't their first time picking up a paintbrush but just using watercolors (I know it says watercolor in the title but it'd be nice to let the public know precisely what they meant.). Articles like these are potentially damaging because they encourage the false belief that if you aren't inherently good at something its not for you. We need to stop that nonsense quitter attitude and encourage people to keep trying and practice if they do have a passion or want to succeed at whatever they want. If one wants to encourage this then be clear that this was the first time using watercolor but you do have previous art experience to understand things like shadows, color schemes and how to sketch. BTW OP these are indeed lovely.

Sorry sunzilla but no. Just NO. I'm sick and tired of people thinking that way (and of people who post things saying its their "first time" without ever mentioning their previous background in related subjects when applicable.). What do you mean "the rest of us can only dream of"? Stop dreaming and get a piece of paper and sketch your A*S off! Want to watercolor? Buy some watercolors and paper, sit down and color your A*S OFF! Somethings may come a little easier to others but that does not mean someone else can't train or practice to achieve the same results (and very rarely is something possibly not meant for something yet people missing limbs learn to draw with other body parts so when I say rarely I mean its freakin' RARE.). I'm tired of people forgetting that to be really good at something it takes PRACTICE. I've had enough of people assuming that if they aren't "the best" at something the very First time they try something, its not meant for them and they give up.
