I wanted to depict strong women warriors who do not necessarily look like the typical warrior. With different sizes, ages, and body types, each one feels like she has a rich backstory and history.

YES! A dinosaur! I have this picture book when I was little called 'Dinotopia' and I just adored that book, medieval cities with dinosaurs in it :^D Thank you for getting me to remember it~
I want to know her story. Why does she have a duck? Why does the duck have a fabulous victorian updo?
This is my favorite. A woman with this build is only ever portrayed as the bad guy, if she's seen at all. However, I know several lovely women of the same shape IRL, just as varied as the whole of your series. Beautiful job!
that is an Afghan Hound, one of the oldest dog breeds around! They are big, skinny, hypoallergenic dogs! First breed in cold mountains of Afghanistan.
Hyperlordosis: an exaggerated inward curve of the lumbar spine. It can cause discomfort but not usually pain. Speaking from experience of having this condition.
This looks *exactly* like a judgmental Renaissance painting. I love it!
Now this is something different than the usual reimaginations and recreations. It's also pretty cool too and well made. Beautiful and not so pretentious.
I love these. I can envision myself and all women as warriors. We are. We fight battles everyday.
I thoroughly enjoyed all of these bad-a*s women warriors. They all look like characters that I would love to read about in a fantasy novel or play in a video games. Wonderful knowledge of clothing and weaponry!
I love that each one of them looks like she's stepped out of her own epic story. They have such different looks and personalities, but they're all ready for adventure!
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this. I am older, and not thin. But sometimes I try to tell myself I am a warrior to encourage myself to work out or try harder or focus on goals. This speaks to me so much. Thank you! ❤️
When does the comic come out...I'd love to follow these women into battle!
can u add more body type, the ones who has bigger upper body? I know some woman who has big bust/chest/wide shoulder but smaller hips n legs
These are lovely. :-) Thank you for your wonderful work. Maybe some day you can do an apple body shape? Like . . .thin arms, inconveniently large chest that kind of blends into no waistline to speak of, no butt, narrow hips, and skinny legs? Not that I'm speaking as a stare at a mirror. *cough, cough* Just, you know, suggesting a body shape I didn't see there. :-D Unless your series that you linked to has shapes. I guess I should go check that out before commenting like some kind of jerk.
I absolutely love your work. Thank you for offering some new narratives with inclusive images. I have been working on some myself. It’s so cool to see yours. I see so many women I know in the mix.
Absolutely amazing. Plan to show to my Girl Scout troop. We are working on a project to instill body confidence and recently discussed the medias portrayal of what is beautiful and in reality how beauty is very diverse. All these women are so unique and beautiful. I love how these images depict the warriar in ALL women!
I love this idea, but was a bit sad to not identify with any of the body type portrayed. I see a lot of hips and thighs going on, but not any Apple shapes...
It’s a nice idea, but one thing I don’t understand is that most of the plus sized models are skinnier at the waist. Like much skinnier.
I would love to know the stories behind these warrior women! Each one is unique and well drawn :)
The overall concept and art style are enough to make this into a new story with its own universe.
¡Amazing character design! I would love to see them all starring an epic animated movie. It would be A W E S O M E!
i honestly love this it is showing that everyone is different and special in their own ways!
These are amazing. Love them all...especially the lady with the dog. I want to know more about her. You did an amazing design job. Usually when folks do these types of things - like reimgaining of costumes - to be less sexy - they also mean less flattering and less cool looking. They think folks are supposed to like them just because they are PC....and not well designed. You hit the nail right on the head. They just have a lot of heart that went into the design and look cool. I want to read about them now and follow their journey's. I cannot say how amazing these characters look and the style..impeccable. :)
These are all wonderful! They look like game designs for characters. The artist would also make a great clothes designer! Imagine dressing like warriors!
These are gorgeous!!! My mind immediately comes up with a fully detailed background story for each and every one when I look at them...
Well, as a petite, mesomorph with narrow hips and muscular thighs, my body type was not represented. Clearly there is a bias for large, protruding buttocks and thunder thighs as a body preference by the artist.
These are wonderful. Would you be willing to add some which have less able bodied people too?
I especially like the attention to detail in the clothing, equipment and weapons, something that's pretty rare in fantasy art. For example, notice the waist mounted quivers rather than the more prevalent back mounted ones. I also like that a few of these women are left-handed. I think Yael Nathan is an amazing artist and have been following her for a while now, so no surprise that these are also very very good. Also, she made the whole series available as a PDF, here: https://gumroad.com/l/ynwarriors
I didn't expect to see something so great on boredpanda. There is hope yet
Love these! They remind me very much of the Dragon Prince animation. I'd love to see some Gnome/Short-person versions of these, since I tend to play a gnome/short person in a lot of my games <3
These were all very well done and portrayed many body shapes, races, skin tones, and attitudes. This was an enjoyable article.
I can see all of these characters in an adventure movie. Like Atlantis: The Lost Empire, but with all realist and relatable women. SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE THIS
These are fantastic! I may not be so hard on myself for these hips! Very empowering... I may have to embrace the tenacious badass superstar within!
There's a reason why warriors have a "typical" body shape its because being overweight makes it basically impossible to do the things you would need to do in battle. There a physical fitness tests in the military for a reason
Just tell me - why is no one of them, not a single one, carrying a shield? Are they suicidal? Don't they expect their enemies to strike back?
All these women are gorgeous (except for the child)! Thank you for sharing your amazing artwork.
This is fantastic and should be the norm! Just natural, realistic human beings of every shape and origin. Love it! Can wait for the RPG with these women and their friends. I'd buy it and play it!
Very cool. Thank you for sharing If your reading this I hope you have a great day and know. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV

I shared here "the whisle of my freedom" , no whisle, just the sound of a 9 section whip chain. No one is willing to approach that, master it and you don't need pepper spray, it's light, discreet, and if someone stole it, he will kill himself before touching you, it's not a knife, or worst a gun. I'm in love of that tiny thing. It's tiny, can't be used against you, you can use it even if the "dangerous people" use it. A woman in need should master it, nobody is doing you nothing with that and skills. I like the sound of it, even in training, like a whisle, and i know that i can kill someone over a mistake too, i'm not going to do that. I never used it. I know that i can use it, if someone or myself is in danger, i never had to use it. i'm really glad.
So drawing women as overweight, muscular, manly and angry looking equates to "powerful warrior"? I'm not seeing it. I consider a powerful warrior as someone who is strong mentally and emotionally. Someone who can teach someone to deal with the world they live in. Good and bad. Continue to grow to be a better person for yourself, which in turn will show to others.
These illustrations made my mom a fan of the artist and a brand new Bored Panda! She fascinated by the artist and loves the body positive message!
I love these! They look like so much more complex characters than the usual sexualized female characters.
Some people would consider most of these bodies ugly, not I think the study did a wonderful job with expressing the bodies
i loved this a lot! love how you made all of them look so powerful. the clothes were also amazing! also to anyone who criticized these why are you even on here
There are two basic body types for women: 1) Those who have waists and 2) those who don't. There were only two of these with women who might be said to not have a waist (and one was just very thin). So, once again, thank you to the OP for making me feel so deformed that I don't even qualify to be included in the all-the-different-body-types post. This wasn't different body types for the most part. It was just different weights.
I don't suppose you'd be interested in doing work for a board game? Fabulous work!
These are fantastic! I like feeling there's a place for someone who's shaped like I am.
All the warriors are beautiful! Could you please also include Trans-women? I'd like to see representation for them too.
Why does absolutely every single one need to have bifurcated lower garments?
Wonderful! Though now I'm having costume envy and I want all their boots!
Thank you for these women more line with real life and not overly sexualized!!! Top marks!!!
When you pack a huge sword, who's going to notice what shape you are ! Brilliant artwork.
I loved every single one (especially the doggie ones). Amazing work!
Wow, just wow! I absolutely love your art style and the material. I signed up just so I could comment! Thank you for this! I love the poses, the details, the colors. I'm an old school DnD kid, and I would agree, they could each have a rich backstory! So cool...thank you again! btw, a warrior-mage would be a cool addition also :)
Where are the disabled women warrior ? Come on, i want to see a badass girl in wheelchair for once !
These ladies look like they could kick my butt and let their animals eat whatevers left. I say that with all possible respect. They’re so beautiful and tough!!
I love these! I'd love to see some gnome-ish/short person versions! I tend to play a gnome or at least a short class in most of my games.
It's all fine and well to lend our voices to the ''accept yourself as you are'' mantra, but what if some of the body shapes are being conditioned by hormones in the meat we eat? Some people, women especially, are sensitive to these undeclared additives and these can sure bend our lower bodies into strange shapes.
Fat women are hot and most of the warriors throughout world history were actually women!!!
OK, captain buzz kill time...... why do ALL the characters have a waist narrower than their hips? Even the bigger women have narrower waists. Great artistry all the same!
Mine still wasn't included :( I'm a short orange type of shape lol giant boobs, stomach and a kind of tiny butt.
These are great, would love to see Disney Princesses looking so real and fierce!
