The Kowloon Walled City was once the densest place on Earth. Hundreds of houses stacked on top of each other enclosed in the center of the structure. Many didn’t have access to air or open space. This notorious city was finally demolished in 1990s.
However, if you look hard enough, you will notice that the city is not dead. Part of it still exists in many of current high-density housing apartments where the only view out the window is neighbor’s window. I hope this series can get people to think about claustrophobic living in Hong Kong from a new perspective.

just imagine playing basketball with hundreds watching you from their window
I recently stumbled across an article about Kawloon walled city, a part of Hong Kong which was demolished in 1993. Just look at the pictures, it's scary people lived in such crowded and small places. A nightmare for a claustrophobic. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kowloon_Walled_City
That's amazing. I didn't know about that but for sure must have been a different living. That reminded me of a tower in South Africa named Ponte City. ponte-look...448e93.jpg

As someone who visits HK a lot it's not all as claustrophobic. It's the busy lifestyle that's the problem.
