In January, 1961, Mel Blanc was in a near-fatal car crash. He was in a coma for two weeks and was unresponsive. About two weeks after the accident, one of Blanc's neurologists tried a different approach than just trying to address Blanc himself: address his characters. Blanc was asked, "How are you feeling today, Bugs Bunny?" After a slight pause, Blanc answered, in a weak voice, "Eh... just fine, Doc. How are you?" The doctor then asked Tweety if he was there, too. "I tawt I taw a puddy tat," was the reply.

Mel was known as "The Man of a Thousand Voices". ...then along came Frank. Frank WELKER. The Man of 10 Thousand Voices. --- Still, Mel Blanc and June Foray were the pioneers who set the "quality and sheer number" bar for all other voice actors.

Also, everything I have read about Mel says that he was a wonderful human being, and had a stand-up comic's talent for humor and witty remarks. A real mensch.

Almost every Warner Bros. cartoon character. Elmer Fudd was voiced by Arthur Q Bryan and Daws Butler, Billy Bletcher and Stan Freberg also lent a hand at times.

Nope, that's an urban legend. He just didn't particularly enjoy them and raw carrots were difficult to immediately chew and swallow and say his next line as Bugs Bunny. Yet nothing else sounded right when other vegetables or fruits were substituted for them. Instead,they would stop recording so he could spit out the carrot into the wastebasket and then continue onwards.

This is cool. Didn't BP have an article about a woman who's husband passed, but he made a recording for the metro and she would go to hear him? Then they changed the recording, and finding out how much it meant, sent a tape to the widow? That was sweet.

Germany does voiceovers for every foreign movie and every actor has his own German voice. We know foreign actors by their German voices. I was baffled as a kid when I realised not every country does this. In Poland they use one voice for the whole movie. That's very confusing. I always liked how Germany does it, but it has it's downs too. For example: often they translate everything, so when there are originally multiple languages used, in Germany they all speak German. Jokes can get lost too.

In Denmark we use subtitles. Unless it's a childrens movie. Never understood the need to replace the original actors' voices.

What about Tom Kenny, voice of SpongeBob? He also played (in addition to tons of other voice over roles) an evil clown in Bobcat Goldthwait's 1991 alcoholic clown comedy, Shakes the Clown!
