You may have seen videos circulating on the Internet that allege COVID vaccines are being used to inject individuals with microchip technology. You know, to track them and alert government officials of their whereabouts. But even though these claims sound absolutely ridiculous, some people still believe them.

Recently, Afghanistan veteran Patrick Loller got so sick and tired of hearing about this nonsense, he made a TikTok video to destroy the myth once and for all. Pointing out its flaws, Loller used his own experience from the army and made a really convincing (and entertaining) case in favor of common sense.

The COVID vaccine microchip conspiracy theories began emerging last year even before the vaccines were available. These theories maintained that vaccination was just an excuse to inject some type of microchip into you that could then allow others to track you and your behaviors.

For example, such claims appeared in the conspiracy theory-loaded “Planet Lockdown” video and, as reported by the Associated Press, Sandoval Iñiguez, an emeritus archbishop of the archdiocese of Guadalajara, had posted a video on Facebook in which he spoke of “the chip that they are planning to put in the vaccine to control you, it is the mark of the beast.” The irony, of course, is that he posted the video on Facebook, the platform that is definitely tracking you.

Even Bill Gates got dragged into the whole ordeal. In fact, one YouGov poll of 1,640 people (conducted in May 2020) suggests that at the time 28% of Americans believed that the billionaire wants to use vaccines to implant microchips in people – with the figure rising to 44% among Republicans.

Who knows how long this whole vaccine microchip ordeal will go on. Let’s just hope that Patrick’s video has at least made it shorter.

There are also some conspiracy theories fans (I met some even here, at Bored Panda, a few days ago) who are sure that 1) the vaccine was produced for killing the old people / 2) the vaccine was produced for reducing world population. My wife is a medic, but she worked for a Big Pharma corporation in the '90's; she told me that all the pharma companies really love old / chronically ill people, because there's where the big money comes from. And imagine a world conspiracy to "reduce the world population": it means to reduce the number of potential buyers of everything, from Microsoft licences, smartphones, Ferrari cars, Armani suits, Rolex watches, Roederer champagne and yachts to Chinese fake plastic stuff. No way!

What blows my mind is the people who think it's population control believe that the government wanted to get rid of all the scientists, doctors, PhD, etc. because they are the ones taking it. Jim Bob with an elementary education thinks he is the one that's going to outsmart the government.

There's no need to inject trackers. The government already can pinpoint your location based on to what cell tower your phone is connecting.

My absolute favorite argument to these people has been approximately 6 words - do you have a cell phone? I'm still waiting for the back arguments like "well, I turned off the location services" or something but so far they have all been way to baffled by the simplicity of having a giant tracker on them already.

... and imagine I've met a guy (the saddest part is the fact that he's a medic) who used to tell people that "with the first shot of vaccine they give you the microchip and with the second one, the booster shot, they activate it". I asked him about "they"; since, he refuse to talk to me - and this makes me happy! Asshole!

I'm still waiting for the booster. Does it come with a tracker? I'm so tired of hubby asking "So where are you going for a walk?"
