There Is A Lake In Finland, That Looks Like Finland
In case you're wondering, because I looked it up immediately when I had learned about it: It's manmade, was made in 1991, is 116 meters long, and a 1:10,000 scale of Finland! The construction engineer was Esko Sääskilahti. It was going to be the Centerpoint of a tourist village, but that part was never completed. The lake took a week to excavate. Hope you enjoyed learning some more! :-)

School Uniform Policy By Country
I love how Finland is like "Perkele, absolutely no school uniforms in our place!"
school uniforms are BS. hate them. I know I know it is to make poor kids not feel poor etc., but in our country, schools are more or less segregated by social class/income level so it's not an issue. what they really do is teach conformism with authority ie fascism.
True, but for me I have a hard time choosing what to wear and a uniform helps with that
Load More Replies...I don't mind a school uniform, my kids wear one but it's not strict at all - as long as they're the right colours there's plenty of options so you can afford it and the kids are comfortable- shirts, polo shirts or t-shirts, jumper or cardigan with or without the logo, then trousers, shorts, skirts, pinafores - it's simple. I don't agree when it the extend to a ridiculous level of strictness - sending kids home for stupid reasons or dictating their personal appearance like hair colour. I like that schools here recognise a uniform is more of a guideline and understanding there's bigger battles that should take priority over something as daft as skirt length or if your trousers are made of denim
possibly the person who made this map looked at the USSR?
Load More Replies...My school has no school uniform but it does have a strict and quite frankly sexist dress code. No shorts above the knee, no tight leggings without a long top, no tracksuits (that one isn’t sexist, the principle is just weird). I prefer to wear jeans but someday I’m going to come in in tight leggings with “Obeying an unjust law is itself unjust” written on the a*s, just so I can.
That's nonsense. Russia doesn't have government mandated school uniforms. Some schools have them but it's for school to decide.
There is something wrong. Are all those US movies lying then? Compared to Germany they must be VERY common!
It is mandatory to wear Uniforms in South Korea, so I have to have 2 pairs of Uniform 😅
I wouldn't want my teenage daughter to wear a school uniform. She might end up in a 'Motley Crew', 50th Reunion video.

In my country (South Africa) we have terrible crime rates. Some say bringing the death penalty back would reduce it but Europe is a good example that that would not be the case.
