There Is A Lake In Finland, That Looks Like Finland
In case you're wondering, because I looked it up immediately when I had learned about it: It's manmade, was made in 1991, is 116 meters long, and a 1:10,000 scale of Finland! The construction engineer was Esko Sääskilahti. It was going to be the Centerpoint of a tourist village, but that part was never completed. The lake took a week to excavate. Hope you enjoyed learning some more! :-)

Load More Replies...I was born in Hungary and I got the Maternal name (I'm the last one with that family name.) My siblings got the Paternal family name but they f*cked it up and wrote it wrong so we are now four siblings with three different family names...
It says "customs". You can give a different name to your child if the law allows it.
Load More Replies...Romania is NOT given name only, wtf? Traditionally, it's given name patronymic name, if "Petre" had a son the son's surname would then be "Petrescu" or "Petreanu" nowadays it's just family names after your first/given name, maybe you'll have a middle name) it's pretty much similar as how in Scotland you'd have "Mac" meaning "son of" in traditional surnames.
"named after various family members"... what about abandonned child ?
In Italy, those children are given the last name Esposito. It's reserved for abandoned babies whose identities are unknown.
Load More Replies...In the US it gets a bit more complicated when the child has a different father than their siblings & mom was in some sort of mood when she gave the kid their name. Mostly seen in urban, rural, & artisan communities.
