Plaster of Paris
It is what it always was “spackle” it cracks very easily and dries in about five minutes you can get it to the consistency of paste not clay
Papier-mâché
I found at the craft store a powder that will give you the pasty water … perhaps among other substances it could contain glue. I found that if you dissect the project and work on parts rather instead of working on the whole it works in your favor. Meaning spend time building the dissections and then try to assemble it at the end. It can become a little boring trying to sculpt with paper like if it was snowballs
Attention this plaster of Paris business in my opinion is strictly for mold making -I won't say that there wouldn't be an application for using plaster Paris as a sculpting medium depending on the parameters of the project but in my opinion it's a nightmare trying to use it as a sculpture medium. Not to mention the strain that it puts on any kind of vacuum cleaner having to have to sand it.
Go buy the rubbery caulking ...I used it when it was in the tube (if it comes in any other shape or form I don't know)
Also the plaster Paris was very heavy, it goes from like a ping-pong ball (A.k.a. paper) to a clay pot. My suggestion is just use it as filler ...fill in the nooks and crannies work with tablespoonfuls ...ratio was 2 to 1 (one being water)
