This Artist Makes Uplifting Comics, And They Might Brighten Up Your Day (30 New Pics)
Interview With ArtistHave you ever thought about how words of encouragement can lighten up your mood or even motivate you to get through the rest of the day? Sometimes even simple words can charge you up when you are having a bad day, and Eckyo’s comics are here to do just that!
Eckyo is a comic artist and an online drawing teacher. He shares his works on Instagram, and to no one’s surprise, his comics have been previously featured here a couple of years ago.
"I started this comic project about positive words because I believe that the words you say to yourself become your mindset. And a good and strong mindset is very powerful energy," said the artist two years ago in his first article here on Bored Panda.

We think it's pretty clear that the artist seems to be very keen on uplifting people's spirits with his comics, in his older post here on Bored Panda he wrote: "A good and strong mindset is a very powerful energy. All these positive words in my comics are very important to me and I hope these positive vibes can help others too like they help me going through my life."
First, we asked the artist if he had any major influences in her life that might've helped her to develop and refine his style.
"I love Akira Toriyama, the author of Dragon Ball, a legend in Japanese comics. The style of drawing in the beginning of his series was very fun and cute. And through this manga, I saw (for the first time) what is called chibi or a cute version of a character in terms of looks. From there, I wanted to make my own version of chibi-style characters."
Art, in any kind of form, takes a lot of time not only to practice but also to produce, therefore we asked Ecky how long it takes him to fully finish his comics.
"It usually takes around one hour, more or less, to draw the comic. But sometimes it takes more time to get the idea when it comes to what I actually want to draw and how to deliver the message in the correct way."
Being an artist is not easy, one can easily encounter a lack of inspiration, burnout, etc, so we wanted to ask Eckyo about his ideas for the comics.
"I love to collect quotes that are meaningful for my life. I have been doing this for years already. So when I create comics from those powerful messages, it is also a reminder for myself because I realize that there is so much negativity that circulates in our everyday life. So hopefully my comics can help others too!"
Yes I'm often frustrated because I haven't completed something so this comic is a good reminder
As we mentioned before, sometimes creative work can cause quite a burnout, therefore we asked the artist how he dealt with that as well.
"Yes, I did. I tried to divide and arrange my time effectively. Although just for a moment, I like to sit back and do other things like read comics or watch movies. It helps me to refresh and continue doing my work."
We also asked Eckyo about how people reacted to his work.
"Most people love my comics. Lots of people send me DMs about how my comics are encouraging them, and I am very, very happy to read their messages! It's amazing how I can connect with many people through my comics."
The creative process is not easy, but there are some enjoyable parts about it.
"My favorite part of the process is sketching and arranging the scenes! I always enjoy the time when I am doing this."
We also asked about the inspiration behind the artist's Instagram account.
"I saw lots of big artists share their works on Instagram. I realized this is a good way to share my comics, because with this method I could reach so many people across the world."
Digital art and art, in general, is not easy and requires a lot of patience, time, resources, and in most cases even money, therefore we wanted to know how the talented comic artist started his own career in digital art.
"I started as a digital artist when I was still in college. Bought a Wacom pen and have been in love with the digital drawing world since then. Back in college, my studies were more about design than drawing but with all of this, I learned some basic drawing in college, and this has helped me to improve my own style."
Artists tend to get motivated by a lot of things such as curiosity, the search for beauty, or even meaning. Therefore, we asked Eckyo about that too.
"I love when people feel encouraged by reading my comics. This has been a powerful fuel for me constantly creating these comics for almost 4 years. And of course, this has been an amazing, meaningful journey for me. My gratitude goes towards all of my comic readers."

Amen to that! But also add that some cannot remove themselves from that environment.
True. Explaining yourself to people who wont understand is a waste of time.
