My name is Bruno Lefevre-Brauer, also known as + Brauer, and I create and regularly exhibit illuminated scrap metal robots from the unique art series "Viva la Roboluciòn!"
More than their technological features, I try to reveal the original, almost primitive, types of robots. I carefully choose vintage things that have an industrial past, that are marked by time and whose patina has been molded by years of manual use. I admire the beauty, sometimes hidden, of these discarded vintage parts. I alter their appearance, sculpt them, and incorporate light sources into their structure before assembling the recycled materials together to create unique and poetic pieces.
The beauty of upcycling materials and the venerable patinas express their beauty in the light of day, while at night, it is the turn of the strange, evocative light fittings to reveal their magic.
Abandoned or forgotten in workshops and garages, the recycling of industrial parts is reborn in unique works of art that embrace us with their kind presence, imposing personality, and amazing humanity.
Each piece is a statement of poetic resistance to mass-consumption.

These are phenomenal! My brother would have loved these when he was younger!
Very clever use of upcycling! Love all their little faces... Really great work!
These are very clever & whimsical. One could only hope robotics of the future will have half the character!
Fantastic work +Brauer. I've been working on an upcycled costume project for a pet portrait series (https://www.boredpanda.com/i-took-discarded-dogs-and-dressed-them-up-in-garbage-the-resulting-photos-were-magical/), nothing at all as creative as what you're doing. But it has still been pretty eye-opening, working on it has really changed how I look at things I would otherwise toss away - or buy, for that matter. I can't even imagine where your head is at if you're coming up with this stuff. the-hero-5...a55afb.jpg
