50 Of The Most Unhinged Posts From Mom Groups To Leave You Questioning What Went Wrong (New Pics)
The internet can be a nice—or a bad—place. Sometimes, even both at the same time. It all depends on where you look.
Take parenting, for example. Dive into articles, forums, and social media, and you'll find a mix of heartfelt advice, heated debates, and downright bizarre drama. Whether it's a debate on the cost of childcare, or a sad multi-level marketing pitch, these spaces can be equal parts supportive and absurd.
That's where '[Stuff] Mom Groups Say' comes in. Created in 2018, this subreddit has grown to 421K members and continues to judge the "no-judgment" culture.

Two-thirds (66%) of parents say raising kids is harder today than it was two decades ago and just 7% report it is easier, while 26% think it is about the same.
At the same time, more than half of parents believe they spend too much time on their phones (56%), with smaller shares saying this about the amount of time they spend on social media (36%) or playing video games (11%).

Mothers (61%) are more likely than fathers (49%) to say that they spend too much time on their phones, as are White parents (60%) compared to their Black (52%) and Hispanic (46%) "colleagues."
Parents' assessments of their social media use follow similar patterns, with parents who are female, White, younger, and who are more educated claiming they spend too much time on these sites.

The phenomenon of parents posting about their children on social media, sometimes referred to as "sharenting," has been the subject of many editorials and opinion pieces in recent years. As many as 82% of parents who use social media say they have posted photos, videos and/or other information about their children on these sites.
Of those, again, women are more likely than men to say they have done this (89% vs. 71%), as are younger parents – between the ages of 18 and 49 – than their older — 50 and up — counterparts.

A big reason why 'Stuff Mom Groups Say' doesn't run out of content is ease of use. 76% of parents who post about their kids on social media say that the ability to effortlessly share things about their children with friends and family is a major factor in their activity, while smaller but meaningful portions say it comes from a desire to showcase their children's accomplishments (36%), and peer pressure — sharing because other parents they know share these things (11%).

Mutual animosity can also be an element that leads parents to posting edgier content in these groups. Michelle Brown, the host of The Pondering Stepmom Podcast, said, "Some mothers are quick to judge the parenting of a fellow mom by pointing out failed parenting methods or perceived behavioral flaws in other people's children."
"This is an ever-evolving problem. With the influx of mom reels and videos on social media, the mom comparison game has significantly impacted mothers everywhere," she explained.

"For some reason, many of us moms (myself included) can easily get caught up in toxic mom bonding, which happens when bonds are created through gossip, negativity, and drama," Brown added.
"When groups of moms get together and immediately start comparing notes on their kids — what they eat, how they behave, how they’re disciplined, how they’re doing in school, what activities they’re in, which moms work outside of the home, and which moms don’t, a phenomenon of mean girl behavior and unhealthy motherhood competition can begin to grow."

Load More Replies...It's not allowed everywhere. In Germany, for example, your child has to go to school. You can choose a private school (there are not as many as in the US), but even private schools have to meet the educational standards set by the state. The homeschooling/unschooling movement is a leftover from the pioneer times when some kids lived too far away from a school, and also the freedom of religion idea. It needs to change.
Load More Replies...From the way it reads, it sounds like it's just a matter of time before they are screwing the kids which will lead to the kids screwing each other. As for the breastfeeding 8yo, I've heard of older. Not saying it's ok.
Load More Replies...I'm always freaked out by the unschooling thing. Just learn whatever what you want whenever you feel like it. I may be wrong, but I don't think the rest of the world will ever work that way.
I think the kids should be able to read and write before you can take them out of standard school.
Load More Replies...An 8yo who still breastfeeds, doesn’t go to school & has these two idiots as parents? I see a lot of therapy in his future…
I see a lot of inability to get and hold a job that would let him pay for therapy. This is a recipe for absolute failure. Just awful.

Oh dear that children are screwed. This upbringing is the best breeding ground for lifelong dependency and abuse of all kinds
Some people just don’t deserve to be parents. This is unfortunately an example.
What's a SAHM and what's "unschooling ". Whatever they are, this person is nuts.
Stay At Home Mom. No clue about unschooling.
Load More Replies...There are certain schools where the children choose when and what to learn, however - and it's a big however - they are in a safe, organised environment with set mealtimes, classrooms for different subjects, and qualified teachers. There are lots of alternative activities they can do if they don't feel like doing something academic, but surprisingly enough, most children actually decide they want to learn maths, reading, editing, etc. The idea is to maximise their learning, critical thinking and creativity, and it works. But it is nothing like these "unschooling" morons seem to think it is.
And it’s structured with other kids around versus just going wild within the family
Load More Replies...I truly believe, that IQ's should be tested, before allow people to procreate. There are way too many seriously stupid people out there & they're just passing their genes along. So sad for the children
I'm one of those people that thrive on structure and routine. Unschooling is not beneficial for people like me.
It's not just structure and routine. Even for people who hate it, they should understand basic discipline , social values and interaction and basic science and maths.
Load More Replies...This reminded me of the kid in Grown Ups who kept asking for his Mommy Milk lol
Stupidity at its best. Add pedo to that too. Just to my humble opinion. No 8yo nurses.
By "unschooling" those kids, the parents are setting them up for major failure. They'll end up wondering why their 18 year old can't spell their own name or do simple math.
This wouldn't fly in my country so I'll take a guess at what great nation this one is from.
What ever will you do with all the free time you have after CPS get involved?
I am kinda speechless... unschooling? Sounds like not teaching kids actual things. Homeschooling is one thing... I'm all for that as long as guidelines and such are followed and kids are actually learning and where they should be... but letting them do whatever whenever?? Uhhhmmmm... nope! The breastfeeding thing is crazy too! I thought 4 years with my son was long... but double that? There's no way man... sounds like some people need to teach structure to these people! Also kinda just sounds like their kids run the house and do whatever they feel like... insane...
Before you know it the 8 year old will be an adult and it’ll be Bitty! (Little Britain)
What will happen when he is an adult and meets a woman he wants to marry?
People like this aren't crazy, they are STUPID. She either doesn't realize or care how dangerous this can be for her and the baby. She's still nursing her 8 yo, that's not for the kid, that's for her and she needs to see a shrink for it. They also need to get those wild animals potty trained and start teaching them so they will be on the same level as the other kids. The 8 yo is so far behind that he is gonna be bullied a lot.
Those poor, poor kids. How the HAIL are they going to function in society when they are adults?! *SMH*

Teachers Should Also Have To Wipe Children’s Behinds
This is a good question, in Wales (part of the UK), they have decided that if your child is not potty trained by the time they start school; unless there is a certified medical reason, you the parent must come in and change their nappies. It will no longer be the responsibility of the teachers. Children start school at four (4) years old; what's my fellow Pandas opinion on this?

Load More Replies...The danger of not vaccinating kids isn't individual. By creating significant subpopulations that spread disease easily, they also infect the small percentage of vaccinated people for whom it wasn't effective, as well as the people with the rare legitimate allergy.
Because none of these fools seem to give a rat's behind about those who are immniocompromised and can't get vaccinated.
Load More Replies...My neighbour, a chap in his early 30's, got 5 kids, hasn't vaccinated any of them, he believes that they inject you with all sorts of rubbish, doctors are quacks, and covid wasn't as bad as the governments around the world made out it to be, thinks the police are a waste of time and the illegal immigrants are to blame for all of it. I'm convinced he's going to be on national TV news for doing something awful. I've said to him numerous times he needs to see a doctor, but to no avail.
Just a reminder that more than half of US people have IQ below 95. From this article, I’m surprised it’s not lower
As tempting as it sounds, that is not how IQ works.
Load More Replies...I fear for society. These kids will soon be running things and making decisions for all of us. The whole "home school" trend is terrifying. Public schools at least try to teach the basics that all kids need in the world, so if these are the people homeschooling, where is that going to lead? The antivaxers are going to bring back preventable diseases, and their own children, as well as others, will suffer. Kids need structure so that they can blend into society instead of difficult. Society kind of depends on it.
In the US your "we value education" states have stringent criteria that home schooled children must meet, in your "we don't see your children as anything but p**n" states, no one and nothing guides them, and for many parents in the reds turn to religious based - full of lies and mistruths and scary patriarchy agendas.

That poll should have had an option of: "It's stupid, don't listen to idiots on the Internet! Go to an actual health professional."
Well, on the upside, there is always the hope of teenage rebellion wherein all values and beliefs of parents are rejected. That might save some of these kids in time for them to learn how to…everything…and have functional lives. There, there’s hope. Sort of.
I couldn't upvote these as they were all awful! It's a miracle my eyes are still in my head, I thought they'd pop out in amazement.
