This Twitter Page Is Dedicated To Showing The Truth Of What Is Currently Happening In Ukraine With Memes And Here Are 40 Of The Best Ones
When Russia had just invaded Ukraine, everyone was terrified and in disbelief that, after trying so hard to maintain peace on the Old Continent when the Second World War ended, an armed conflict would arise once again.
However, we quickly snapped out of it and started helping Ukraine every way we could and started to see that this Eastern European nation won’t surrender without a fight. As the days went on and we realized that this might take a while, we had to find ways to cope with the frightening reality.
One of those ways is through humor and people on the internet did what they do the best and started creating memes. Mostly supporting Ukraine and showing how evil Putin is. Even the state of Ukraine shared memes on their Twitter, which shows how important it is to look at things in a sarcastic view to maintain sanity.

The Twitter page Ukrainian Memes Forces was created in February of this year, the month when Russia’s invasion started. It is dedicated solely to memes about the invasion, the involved countries, the helping countries and other events related to the situation.
It now has over 214k followers and it just shows how important it is to look at things in a sarcastic or ironic view to maintain sanity. Even the state of Ukraine shared memes on their Twitter reflecting what awesome people Ukrainians are.
Memes help to boost morale and process the horrible things we are witnessing and Jennifer Grygiel, an associate professor of communications at Syracuse University who specializes in social media and memes, says, “That's how warfare is conducted in the information space. It's about narratives and public belief.”
Instead of propaganda posters and letters people send to their loved ones, we are now creating the narrative and how we fight against misinformation coming from Russia. Social media plays an interesting role during this invasion because never before have we seen live updates and soldiers simply posting videos from the war zone.
It also makes the war seem a lot closer to us and allows us to be more compassionate towards the people there as we learn about the horrible things done there not just from stories, but by actually seeing them.
On the other hand, Ellie Mae O'Hagan says that it can have an opposite effect and make the news feel unreal when they are seen through a filter on Instagram, becoming "an exaggerated version of reality which ultimately blurs the boundaries between reality and simulation altogether."
Humor might also create distance between us and the problem we are facing, but laughter and sarcasm are actually often used as defense mechanisms; according to Claire Brummell, an expert on human behavior, dark humor can make us relax more and connect with others going through the same trauma.
Memes are a special genre on social media that often uses dark humor. They have proven to be unifying and so powerful that a Canadian man by the name of Christian Borys thought it was a good idea to stamp them on a t-shirt, specifically the one of Virgin holding an antitank missile, to make some money that he could donate to help Ukrainian orphans.
When it was clear that Russia was not just training at the border with Ukraine, the sales of the t-shirts went up to $170,000 a day. The creator of the idea told The New York Times, “The internet speaks in memes and it just became this crazy, viral sensation. I think it’s because people were looking for a symbol of support, a way to support Ukraine, because they saw the whole injustice of everything.”
Memes are not just funny pictures anymore. They are their own culture on the internet, a way of communication, a way to express your opinions through illustrations and a means to show your creativity by creating something new out of content that is there for you to use.
Do you agree that looking through memes is a good way to relax and disconnect from the world even though they often touch on very heavy topics? Do you feel that memes about Ukraine help you cope with the stress of a war happening so close? Let us know your thoughts and also don’t forget to upvote the memes to show us which ones you agree with the most.
And also, Слава Україні!
You do know those aren’t evil robots dying in battle, they are tricked and deceived Russian soldiers, good people, who are dying? Putin lies to them just like he lies to the rest of the world.
My friend’s Godbrother died bravely fighting in Mariupol. Слава Українї!
I'd like to remind people to be mad at Putin, not the Russian people, as many of them (if they even know what is happening) would not support him.
Be proud of your government. We (Hungary) are not even on the list with -10000 points. What a shame :(((((

A lot were great, some were confusing, but I'd love to know more about what Ukraine is doing to resist Russia in the moment. Those posts about people hacking Russian propaganda sites and helping Ukrainian refugees were some of the most important on this site (in my opinion). Web-captur...49f75.jpeg
I recently purchased a crazy good priced used pet stroller on FB marketplace and the only reason I got it was because I had a Ukraine flag on my FB profile (and sunflowers as the header image). The lady held this stroller for me for hours until I picked it up. She is from the Ukrane and adopted 2 dogs from her friend in her hometown (who runs an animal shelter there). She said it touched her that people haven't forgotten and that's why she gave me a chance. She told me a lot about what is going on there (Russians stealing grains from defeated cities and horrible rape crimes) and assured me that my money will be used to be sent back to her hometown. Keep supporting Ukraine guys, every tiny ounce of support is appreciated, even a flag on a profile photo.
The power of propaganda. Create a simple black and white narrative and tell the population who the bad guy is, sit back and let them whip themselves into a frenzy demanding action be taken against the person/group you wanted to attack. Roll on WW3.
The Russians are literally killing women and children every day. Please take your stupid philosophy somewhere else!

My husband is in Ukraine to help saving the civilians in the war zones. We were texting today and he said in passing that they heard a jet plane in the afternoon. Then he continues, saying he checked his colleagues and no one moved. They said it was a Ukrainian plane - they recognized the sound. My husband also downloaded an app called "Air Alert Ukraine" and it didn't go off when the plane was there. I'm actually panicking and sending lots of "OMG" until I remember he's IN Ukraine. My first thought when he said they didn't move was to be sure no shadows would pass the windows and tell someone was there. Worst 3 minutes of my life. He says there was a Russian strike ~400km from where they are. It hit a railroad and a train convoy carrying weapons. 3 dead, dozens injured. Then he says he's tired and has to go to bed - Darn time zones. I can't wait for him to get back home. It's been almost 6 weeks.
German gas payments support the Russian war. Boycott German products to show support for Ukraine.
That would be a pretty pointless boycott. It won't help anyone.

Negotiations are the only legitimate international conflict resolution method. Once a shot is fired (from russia or any other aggressor), that country is in the wrong. When a guy breaks into your house, shoots your spouse, and demands your house, you do not say "oh sure, don't mean to offend you.". No, you say "f**k you", pull out a knife from the kitchen, and go down fighting.

He knows Russia is completely irrelevant in the modern world. And he's the "leader" at what is probably Russia's lowest point in recorded history. Besides, I think it's pretty obvious that Ukraine did NOT fall in less than a week. Ukrainians DID take up arms against their traitorous "brothers". And over three months later, big, bad Russia STILL can't really get anywhere. Are you sure Putin doesn't have Alzheimer's to go with that cancer? He certainly can't keep his story straight.
