40 Photos Of Ukrainian Folks With Their Pets Amidst The War, Proving Just How Strong Human-Pet Love Can Really Be
As the unfortunate events keep taking over Ukraine and its citizens following Putin's shocking invasion and attack on the country, many folks continue fighting their way through this evil, life-taking and unnecessary conflict.
It's not a secret that the country leaders have a mind of their own and are known to involve themselves in similar events, overlooking the well-being and safety of ordinary people. Although most expected that something so tragic would eventually happen, nobody actually wanted to believe it.
We so eagerly thought that nowadays, there could've been many ways of reaching an agreement without having to put people's lives at risk, though it looks like nothing has changed, and we were once again proven wrong. These days folks have no sense of the future, and instead of enjoying their carefree and colorful lives, innocent children are forced to deal with something so cruel. If you would like to help our fellow neighbors, you can support the Armed Forces of Ukraine by clicking right here.

Many Ukrainian citizens have been spotted holding on to their dear pets while fleeing to safety during these very anxious and heartbreaking times. Folks all over the country are hiding in subway stations that are now acting as shelters and making their uneasy way to borders in order to save their families and furry friends from the ongoing crisis.
Still, a good deal of locals can't actually afford to leave the affected towns due to the standard rules involving tons of paperwork and vaccinations that allow people to cross borders with their pets and are choosing to stay to be together with their beloved animals. However, the EU's veterinarians federation requested that Europe relax the strict entry requirements to help people get to safety without having to leave their pets behind, and some countries like Poland, Romania and Slovakia have, in fact, eased the rules for Ukrainian refugees.
We as humans have developed an otherworldly connection with our little friends and leaving them behind, let alone in such dangerous conditions, for most is just not an option whatsoever. Some folks choose to have children only, many decide to give their offspring a furry companion to grow up with – and others are happy to adopt a couple of cats and have a fulfilling life without having to take the significant responsibility of raising another human being.
However, we've grown to treat our pets like complete family members. We love them unconditionally, we care for their safety and comfort just like any ordinary parent would, therefore, in reality it requires nearly as much responsibility as it would with an actual baby.
None of us truly know for how long this crisis is going to last; neither do we know whether it will take a much scarier turn. For the past several years, the world has been dealing with another life-threatening event in the form of the pandemic that has selfishly taken the lives of what seems like a countless amount of people. Everything happened so suddenly, and in just a moment, our lives started to resemble one of those fiction novels about a horrific disease, where just when we thought that we're slowly coming back to our previous routines – the world surprised us with a much scarier chapter. Though we might feel powerless, it's crucial to stick together, help the ones in need and fight the evil with our voices – even if it feels impossible.
It's emotionally excruciating knowing that people are forced to suffer purely because folks above us couldn't come to an agreement and decided to involve everyone in their immoral and poisonous games. Citizens of the affected country have no other choice than to completely pause their lives and hope for the best, waking up in indescribable fear every single morning. No one knows how to stop the conflicts from happening, and whether we'll ever have a say in these types of situations, but what we know is that as long as we'll stay united, someday the world will be able to find its true path.
Ukraine and its citizens are receiving a great amount of support from folks all over the world. Moreover, for the sake of all the pet owners, PETA Germany are planning to deliver 20,000 kgs of dog and cat food to the country, as well as other necessities such as blankets for people and their furry friends who are not able to flee the country.
That kitty looks so scared. It's a good thing her owner takes care of her instead of abandoning her.
Once again, the National Bank of Ukraine has managed to open up a special fundraising account to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and if you would like to help out financially – here's the link where you can donate. Let's fight this unfairness together and remember that the good will always win.
If that cat isn’t meowing or yawning, but breathing with its mouth open like that, it means the poor baby is extremely stressed—-and understandably so. Hope they both get someplace where they can feel safer and calmer, and bring their stress levels down to a manageable level again.
I am so glad to see your kitty has both food and water. Bless you and I hope this will end soon for you.
I had a miniature schnauzer for most of my life up until recently. This doggy reminds me of her
Oh look at this baby - she is so precious and needs a little blanket around her. She looks a bit lost. At least she is with her human and we are praying for them. Be safe little one;)
I had the exact same carrier... But my cat chewed it... This kitty looks like a brave one , i hope they are okay ..
Poor pupper looks like they’re totally overwhelmed. Hope they get to safety soon.
This breaks my heart even more than the others, because I have a beagle as well. This war is absolutely horrible.
😭💔 there are no words to describe this tragedy. No jokes about onions. This whole situation makes me cry. I stand with Ukraine.
This is one of the most tragic and yet beautiful posts I've ever seen on BP. We shouldn't need a war to prove just how loyal and loving our pets can be even in the darkest of times. These people are doing everything they can to protect their furry friends, and that requires a lot of courage and devotion, which is something that unfortunately not many people have. Pets are man's greatest gift from God, and we need to protect them. Because they will most definitely return the favor and protect us. No jokes, no "onion-ninja" references, but please reply if you agree. #westandwithukraine
The Russian war going on right now has high stakes so I get peoples worry. I also get that the west can relate to the plight of Ukrainians due to cultural and racial similarities, but I can't help but be shocked by how differently other world conflicts are treated by the media ( I mean even Ukrainian pets are getting more coverage!). Not a single sanction against Saudi Arabia, a nation responsible for the WORST Humanitarian crisis in modern history in yemen. Not a single word against Israel who violates UN laws like it's nothing and is labeled an apartheid state by human rights watch. Since we're all on thus subject of war, I think such a discussion is valid. Also, you Europeans better figure this all out fast, no one wants a WW3!
I absolutely understand what you're saying. The Saudi and Israel situations are truly about money. And as long as the US has rich fat cats calling the shots, they're not going to do anything about it.
Load More Replies...I would be so worried about my cat running off or getting lost if she wasn't on a leash or a in box?
Me too! But, if you can't find the box, get them in the box, AND make a run for it in time, you do what you gotta. :(
Load More Replies...Fortunately neighbouring countries like Hungary, Romania and Poland let dogs through their borders even if they don't have the necessary jabs and also immunize those pets who don't have the jabs.
This proves that in the worst moments people are still kind, compassionate, and full of love. I've always been a firm believer that if it's not safe for me, it's not safe for my pets. Lifetime commitment.
Putin and his filthy rapist soldiers will suffer agonizing Hell for all eternity for what he has done to a nation at peace whom he hates. He will be in Hell with Stalin, Lenin, Mao, Pol Pot and Saddam Hussein. The vignettes of these people with their beloved pets are heartbreaking. I mean - How in the world can you leave these animals by themselves behind? God curse you - filthy rapist Russian soldiers and Devil Incarnate, Putin!
And I forgot to mention Hitler, as well.....God has a very good video camera and people who do such acts will suffer agony in Hell eternally. The Book of Revelation explains this.

I hope and pray that all these brave pet pawrents are somewhere safe with their beloved furbabies, many flee to Poland and Slovenia, or to Romania, but some also flee to Germany, and they´re welcome here, even private people who have a holiday home/apartment offer room to the #Refugees from #Ukraine, I can´t do more to help than post daily donation requests on my cats´ Facebook page and on Twitter because I am on social security and I live in a rented 1 bedroom apartment.
And God curse you - WASP Tucker Carlson and Ignoramus, Candace Owens!!! You both have blood on your hands. Russian TV is repeating your support for Putin and lies you have told about the Ukrainians. I literally cannot stand to look at either of you.
God curse Putin and his soldiers! These people were living normal lives in every way. They were at peace. Their Communist aggressor -The Devil Incarnate, Putin - will suffer the most agonizing , eternal time in Hell. God is just - and he has a really good video recorder.Seeing how these people are protecting their pets is heartbreaking. It is really hard on these animals. Putin will suffer in Hell along with Stalin, ,Mao, Lenin, Pol Pot and Saddam Hussein for all eternity for what he has done to these people. And he did the same to the Syrian people and Chechnyan. They call him the Butcher of Syria.
absolutely heartbreaking :(((( how do you explain those pour souls what is happening...? all the love to the people of Ukraine
Anybody knows any site where I can donate directly to animal hospitals, shelters or stuff like that? I already made a donation to an humanitarian organization, but I'd like to know if there's any organization currently taking care of the well-being of pets, strays, etc.
I think we should inundate the big pet food companies with calls to get them to donate food to the countries surrounding Ukraine that are accepting people that are fleeing. I am not sure if it is possible to get anything into Ukraine itself.
Load More Replies...NATO has never been an invading force, it is not its role, but a deterrent force, a protection force and it is quite logical that Putin does not wish to see NATO expand because it complicates his project of reconquering the former territories of the USSR. Moreover, it is the countries themselves that ask to join NATO and it is not for nothing, the Russian bear is hungry (or should I say, the Putin bear).
