Well, if we domesticate animals from the wild, people will want to keep them, and over time they will change into different subspecies, like how wolves turned into dogs.

The statement of tigers in Texas is based on the highest estimate of possible tigers in the state and not a verified number. Also it is compared to tigers in the wid in Asia not the whole world. There are around 400 tigers in preserves and sanctuaries and while some like the Tiger Creek Sanctuary are horrible and should be shut down not all of them are bad. I know I and most other people treat their pets with love and affection so I assume most private owners treat their pet tigers the same way. Also Texas is huge compared to the places most of yall live and it isn't hard to find land with enough space for big cats to be happy and healthy. There are a ton of people across the globe who have big cats as pets many with YouTube channels. You should check them out because they show what it is like to have big cats as normal household pets. It's dangerous and alot of work but it is possible.
