Trees have been around for about 370 million years, and as you can from these incredible pictures, there's a good reason why they've survived for so long. Whether they're growing in the middle of gale-force winds, on the tops of rocky platforms, inside concrete tunnels, or even growing out of each other, these beautiful trees know how to survive in places where no other life finds a way. Which explains why the planet is host to around 3 trillion adult trees that cover an estimated 30% of the earth's land. Considering that plants produce the vast majority of the oxygen that we breathe, we should all think ourselves very fortunate that these cool trees are as resilient as they are. We wouldn't even be here if they weren't.
Now scroll down and check our list filled with unbelievable photos - from old trees clutching to life to big trees growing in desolate places and tree roots finding their way through pavements, the beauty of our Mother Nature is truly stunning. (h/t: twistedsifter)

Ooh! You found a rare chair tree. Most people, upon hearing this, wouldn't believe it, and would think you were confusing it with cherry trees, but I assure you, you have found an amazing feat of nature! Once it reaches maturity, the chair tree will begin to produce more chair saplings in a manner similar to the root growth of Aspen trees. Then, your lawn can be littered with chair trees! Good luck
it looks like osier, or willow tree, it sprouts easily and it may be used in endangered areas preventing landslides
young branches from these kind of trees are often used to make baskets or even some kind of fence

The wood is still wet no wonder it grows sprouts. Wooden benches are made of ovened wood.
Furniture doesn't just grow on trees y'know... the converse, however...
I agree. Plant the chair. You will probably have a fascinating grove of trees.
That is a really cool chair! But how did they bend the green, live wood without it breaking???

Maybe that's why "lost places" amaze me - when nature takes everything back we took from her without asking. She takes it gently and slowly but steady, as she has infinity to do so
Ther Nature reclaims her ground eventually if allowed. What a collection of tree pics, love them all :-)
I have a eucalyptus that grew to 18ft before being felled by strong wind ripping its roots out of the ground. Instead of dying the trunk started sprouting roots along it's length and the side branches started growing upright... now it is taller (and far wider) then it was before it fell.

What about the lone Cyprus tree in Monterey California on 17 mile drive?? That tree deserves some attention
I admit, I find the pictures of trees that had to grow through benches and old fences a tad annoying. Why didn't anybody in those cities bother to take care of the trees and just take away the damn obstacle? Landscapers, gardeners, city-planers - anyone?

how about that tree experiment that inverted a tree to prove how resentli they are? that was fantastic
These are beautiful pictures just on their own! But honestly they have such positive messages too! I love nature ^-^
It's amazing to me how everyone just trusts the idea of 370million years without question, but the oldest living trees in the world are younger than 6,000 years. If the world is as old as you say, wouldn't we be able to find at least one tree older than 6,000 years? "Prehistoric" is just another word for "I'm making a guess about what I see because no one was there to witness what I'm stating." -Tr https://www.mnn.com/earth-matters/wilderness-resources/photos/the-worlds-10-oldest-living-trees/methuselah
You don't need to find a tree like that. Nowadays there is genetic tools that can estimate DNA from that era. This is fantastic you must read about it more.

Some insects eat horribly tree-leaves. So, there are the good recipe how to protect garden and forest from harmful insects: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Km_2KhMvyQ
As President Donald Trump refused to sign the Paris agreement on the Climate change (because of CO2 is accumulated), then he must support the forest industry to absorb more CO2 from athmosphere and produce more woods for the furniture. Also, our cities needs more gardens around, to protect homes against gale and tornado and supply more fruits for consumers.
That's why I smirk behind the backs of the wood cutters in my neighborhood, who were given the order to chop down most of our beautiful poplars(the municipality planted them some 25 years ago but now they decided that it was a stupid idea, so of course the trees get it). Honestly, do you think you can go into a combat with nature and win? Do you think you can fight with your own creator? Trees would win, the Earth would survive and we, the arrogant homo sapienses would lose and die out(a species live for approximately 5 million years). Those trees know it and they proved it to us!
I'm not that faithful. Nature, sadly, is fragile. It would be a total desaster if we really managed to kill this planet. I don't even want to think about it. Let's just become vegetarians.
