This is awesome but is there a benefit to the vortex besides visual

Some engineering students at my university designed faucets that agitate the water in a way that allows less water to be used. The idea, if I recall correctly, is that the way the water sprays out, it helps get soap off easier. Perhaps the vortex here provides a similar benefit.
