It's no secret that our society has its flaws - dependence on technology, taxes, obesity, devaluation of workers - to name a few. Some people may not even want to think about any of these problems in society but illustrator John Holcroft, on the other hand, he looks them straight in the eye and depicts them in a satirical way.

Though not all of us have to deal with such problems, it is a great reminder to pace yourself and to familiarize with the society today. Who knows, it might make you a better person in some way.

With a style based on 50's advertisements and a vintage feel - Holcroft perfectly captures today's social issues and modern behavior. Also, his illustrations do so in a brutally honest manner. Keep on scrolling to check them out, and you just might realize with what social media problems you have to deal every day.

This could also be a true representation of all the money that the state earns from taxes on tobacco. I'm my country the tax is super high, which means that even with huge expenses to healthcare due to smoking, the state would be kind of f****d if everyone quit smoking :-/

While it's true that a contract may limit your freedom to the point of actual depression, a contract can also really protect your worker's rights. It's not always a bad thing. It depends.

I think this one represents paying rent, we all know that is a huge waste of money. Paying a mortgage on a home is an investment, when you sell you get your money back and more...this picture is shredding money, meaning it's not coming back to you in a usable fashion.

I like. This states it very well. This is the image I see , having lived through the technological advances in electronics as they've evolved over the past 30 plus years. Especially since I started in IT when it was a pioneering work just to build a PC. And being one of the first women in my state to own her own electronics business, it speaks on other levels. Good job.
