This Guy Drew An Eye-Opening Illustration That Shows How Drastically Earth’s Temperature Has Changed In The Last 200 Years

While it’s hard for scientists 100 percent predict what the future holds for earth’s climate, more and more studies show that very soon the globe may begin to exhibit some of the worst possible side effects of global warming.

A recently published study warns that if the current level of greenhouse gas emissions continues, in 2030 earth’s climate will practically be the same as it was 3 million years ago during the Pliocene epoch. Back then, temperatures on earth were higher by about 2 to 4 degrees Celsius (3.6 to 7.2 degrees Fahrenheit) and sea levels were higher by roughly 20 meters (almost 66 feet) than today. It’s clear that climate-change deniers will not be able to deny it for very much longer because earth’s climate is rapidly changing for the worse. According to CNN research scientist Nick Obradovich, the change means “Jumping back to climates not seen for millions of years — in the course of decades — will likely totally disrupt the future of humanity.” So it’s clear that both politicians and individuals must take action to reduce greenhouse emissions as soon as possible.

A Redditor raised an interesting question of what would happen if all humans would unite to take drastic actions to stop global warming?

The answer they received was simple

The tragedy could be prevented but the climate would not reverse to its previous state before human-caused global warming.

For those who say that earth’s average temperature changed before, here’s a helpful timeline showing the bad impact humans have made on the climate

The problem is not that the temperature is rising, it's that IT'S RISING TOO FAST FOR ANY ANIMALS TO ADAPT AND WE NEED TO CHANGE IT OTHERWISE WE COULD LITERALLY BURN THE EARTH DOWN okay?

I would still say the fact that it's rising in general is still a problem though... Even if it were rising slowly enough for us to adapt, it's still gonna be a problem when the earth turns into another Venus. What I've learned from Venus is that life doesn't like it there.
