I Used Artificial Intelligence To See How Some Celebrities Would Look If They Lived In Our Times Instead Of Theirs (17 Pics)
"Thisness": The quality in a thing of being here and now or such as it is.
I am Alper Yesiltas, a lawyer and photographer living in Istanbul, Turkey. I've been imagining scenes and capturing memories for about 19 years now. During that time, some of my photos have been edited worldwide in books, magazines, exhibitions, and websites and were awarded in several photo contests.
You may have heard of my previous project called "As If Nothing Happened", in which I depict what some of the lost celebrities would look like if they were alive today, and which I first published on Bored Panda.
I would like to share with you the first collection of images of my new AI-based project called "Thisness". Behind this project lies the question "What would some iconic people look like if they lived in our time instead of living in theirs?" I look forward to your feedback and suggestions.

In general, the people I work with using artificial intelligence are the people I personally want to see the photorealistic version of or adapted to the present day. I think these people are indeed some of the greatest icons that ever lived, and I am very curious about them.

She would never have been able to accomplish what she did if it hadn't been for Anne Sullivan, her teacher and lifelong companion. Helen went to Radcliffe college (the women's college at Harvard), and Anne spelled out the lectures into Helen's hand, as well as the textbooks not available in braille, which was most of them.

I agree. I read the story of Annie Sullivan long before that of Helen Keller. She is a true hero.

It also helped, as Keller stated herself, that she came from wealthy family. Don't forget that she was a socialist that, at one point, wrote a letter supporting eugenics and euthanasia. Anne Sullivan has her own incredible story and deserves more mention in her own right.

Anne is the only hero of this story and the actual activist. Helen believed in eugenics, was a rich spoiled brat and an all around terrible person.

Yes, Anne Sullivan had a hand in Helen's sucess however, I saw a documentary recently and it seems that I believe it was Thomas Edison who as well had a hand in Helen's sucess. Or perhaps it was Alexander Graham Bell. Not quite sure.

I'm sorry, I just don't understand the point of this. All of these people would look exactly the same as they did, except for modern clothing and maybe a modern hairstyle. For some of these even the hairstyle hasn't really changed much, so it's basically just putting them in modern clothes. So what? Seriously. I'm not trying to be mean, I just don't understand it at all.

For all the people who "don't understand" or comment how "awful" or bad these are or say nasty things about the individuals- REALLY? YOU took the time to look at each one AND to make a rude comment! Why do you have to knock someone else's creativity or comment on the lives of people you never knew personally? Here's an idea- if you don't find something interesting or disagree with how/why it was done, how about you stroll on by? Is it REALLY that difficult to hit your back arrow or move on to something you DO like, or do you just look at projects like this because you have nothing better to do than be rude?

The point was to demonstrate the possible difference from their time to ours. Comparrisons can be fun...if only some of you people would give it a chance instead of being a bunch of stick in the muds. IM MEAN...REALLY!!!!
