This Is Not A Story About Me, But It Is My Wish To Help This Family Who Lost Their Means Of Work In A Fire Accident
The hero of this story is one of the most valuable people I have met on my way. His family has been involved in carpentry for almost 80 years. He learned the work from his father and grandfather; now, he passed this knowledge on to children and grandchildren. The second day of March was a normal day. Most of us (neighbors) were ready to go to sleep. The siren of the fire brigade awakened us. When we got there, it turned out that the carpentry workshop was on fire. It was too late to save what was inside; the only thing worth fighting for was to save the rest of the buildings nearby. We managed to cut them off from the fire. We did not come back home; we all waited in solidarity until the last spark went out. It took us two weeks to clean up what the element left behind. But what’s next? Every person who runs even a small workshop knows how huge the costs of such equipment are. We all donated as much time, money, and material as we could, but we are a group of only 5 people. Yesterday an idea popped up in my head. It reminded me of a few pages from which our story’s protagonist drew inspiration for his work with wood. Boredpanda.com and the DIY section were some of his favorite things to read over the coffee he always drank at 5:00 PM. I knew that there are many enthusiasts here who will surely understand the level of such a loss. The description of the fundraiser for this purpose is currently only in Polish. You can use, for example, google translator to translate its content. We want to buy at least a small part of the tools they lost for this family. If you would like to help us, even one dollar is worth its weight in gold for us. Maybe you know someone who could also help, then be sure to let them know. Maybe you could post this article or the link to the fundraiser on your Facebook? Twitter? Reddit? We do not expect anything big. We are aware that we will not rebuild the facilities and workshop worth tens of thousands. We want to restore it to the minimum efficiency that will allow you to derive profits from it for many years to come. This family is very ambitious, and they do not want social benefits. They want to work. Below this text, I attach a link to the fundraiser. As the title says – it’s not a story about me, but a wish to help.
