This is how a photographer mom of two is dealing with the quarantine when the world is taken over by corona virus.
I am a photographer and mom of two boys living in Dubai for about a year now. My kids still being very young, their safety and well being becomes paramount and this made me start with social distancing from Feb end, well before the government imposed restrictions. That perhaps gave us as a family, bit of a heads-up to prepare mentally and plan our regime which immensely helped us in keeping our spirits soaring in spite of being confined indoors for close to a month.
Beginning of April I realized it’s not coming to end anytime soon and it will be while before I can get back to work. So rather than worry about things beyond control, I decided to get in that creative headspace for my own sanity and started to document our family time in quarantine. This is a tough time for all of us and we all are dealing with it differently. Here is my coping mechanism.
Thanks to the proactive measure and timely action of the government and local bodies, things here in UAE largely remained unaffected and while the internet remains flooded with panic stories trickled from around the world, thankfully all our supermarkets and pharmacies have adequate supplies and groceries & essentials are being home delivered as usual.
I hope life gets back to normal soon we can all get back to our routine wakes of lives, stronger, wiser and resilient as ever.
