“Be prepared.” (Robert Baden-Powell in: «Scouting for Boys», 1908) — I’m much afraid that it won’t be only the U.S. to be hard-hit in another pandemic … from what I’ve experienced in Frankfurt, Germany during COVID-induced “lockdowns”. An estimated 20+ % of the population here aren’t even capable of keeping two meters (6+ ft) distance between each other in public space, and don’t even start me talking about actual “pandemic refusers”. The *real* pandemic is ignorance, and I’m very much afraid that it’s everywhere. It’s too late already.

That's one way to get rid of the MAGAts in this country.

As long as the rest of us DO follow science-based guidelines, we’ll have a real chance of finally cleaning and disinfecting the shallow end of the gene pool. (I know, that sounds terrible, but I’m just so exhausted from all the b******t that part of the population has been pulling lately.)

Please forgive me for being very dystopic[al] here (please downvote if desired). I hate to break it to you, but organic life on Earth isn’t about surviving—not at all. It’s all about dying. Death is absolutely necessary for enabling life to continue. As George Harrison put it: “All things must pass.”

On the upside, it may do wonders for the average intelligence of the survivors.

We need a good plague. Thin the herd a bit, we are far too over populated as it is.

Just a side note. The mask commonly used did not significantly slow the spread. You need a higher grade mask for that. (if we speak science based, when the studies show surgical masks and cloth masks didnt really stop any spread). Vaccines,on the other hand, is REALLY effective.

We just had Hurricane Helene, which caused massive flooding and power outages and, as I write this, over 50 deaths. Lucky me came through it OK.
