I am Alexandra Lier, a fine art photographer living in Germany. Since 1999, every year I travel to the salt-flats called Bonneville in Utah. It feels like the edge of the world, like you could walk away and step off into another dimension. My book “The World’s Fastest Place” is my tribute to the vanishing era of internal combustion and fossil fuel racing.

I tried to capture the entire context: the racers, the cars, the spectators, the city, the gas station, the flats to provide the spirit to everyone, this unbelievable and unique world of speed I really love.
